Post to ANI

I have taken care of the post. In the future the last thing you want to do is post something that may need to be removed from sight to ANI. You should notify Oversight. ~ GB fan 01:36, 5 March 2018 (UTC)

Well done

For the good work on Novichok agent, preempting the viewers there. Regards Widefox; talk 14:15, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Cheers. It looked extremely likely early on that it was about to become a page of interest. 20:11, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
I responded to your notice on my talk page - letting you know just in case if you want to continue discussion. My very best wishes (talk) 14:14, 18 March 2018 (UTC)

Apologies

Hi Neil First of all I do apologise for removing information and please understand I am new to this. I don't want to break any rules or upset anyone. I don't understand the rules or how this works but I am willing to abide by them. Is it possible for me to message privately and send relevant documents to the owner of this page? Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Accusation of edit-warring

Hello sir,

  • Consensus was reached in the talk page
  • Reverting content that is contentious and biased is exempt from edit-warring policy

Thank you. PaganPanzer (talk) 10:36, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

@PaganPanzer: You are mistaken on both counts. Neil S. Walker (talk) 10:45, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Regarding image size

I’m having to chase you around by having to add this: |image_upright = 1.2 to every single image size you have altered. At least help me please. I dont want to be rude but this is annoying for me to do. OrbitalEnd48401 (talk) 15:11, 18 April 2019 (UTC)

I'm not altering image sizes, I'm reverting an editor who has overridden the infobox template default to add an arbitrary custom size. Cheers. Neil S. Walker (talk) 08:27, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi there, I was just wondering why the font of the paragraph below the picture in the article is different from the normal. I found that abnormal, but I don't know to correct that. If you think that is abnormal, requesting you to make it look normal. Thank You.

@2405:204:D40C:EBA5:C881:47A8:2423:5F10: Hi. The paragraph had been indented by the addition of a space. Removing the indent fixes the issues. Neil S. Walker (talk) 11:52, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi, I deleted this after you had taken it to AfD. I thought you'd be interested to know that it has been re-created in draft space after a WP:DRV. --Randykitty (talk) 08:02, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi, you gave a warning to Cls14 who edited a talk page comment. He or she used the term "jobsworth nerd". That phrase has been used before by a banned user, James Bowes in their reason for unblocking. James Bowes has also in the past messed with Cls14's talk page.

So it could be that the edit was actually by an IP sock of James Bowes, or Cls14 and James Bowes could be the same person (?) Esowteric+Talk 18:07, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

Thorpdale

I'm interested to know why you completely reverted my edits to this entry.

Tullyvallin (talk) 08:53, 11 September 2019 (UTC)Tullyvallin

@Tullyvallin: I see what you mean, reverting your edit was a collateral and unintended result of my undoing a previous edit. It was carelessness on my part. Neil S. Walker (talk) 08:58, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Ascent Infinite Realm logo.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Ascent Infinite Realm logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:03, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi. I closed and redacted your report to prevent drawing further attention to the offsite harassment. As mentioned, I've warned the user in no uncertain terms. But you say this happened before with that user, also? Perhaps an indefinite block is due after all. Regards, El_C 11:07, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

Upon further investigation, I have indefinitely blocked the user. I've also emailed the Arbitration Committee about this matter. El_C 12:05, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

Why is reducing bias unconstructive?

(I generally make wikipedia edits while I read articles, because a lot of articles are biased or hard to read.)

  • I agree with the WP:EASTEREGG reverts on False equivalence and not even wrong, I was unaware of that rule.
  • On Realistic conflict theory I created a proposal on the talk page, because reduction of polemic language is a valid cause for writing an encyclopedia.
  • On Coming of age in Samoa I created a talk item as well, because the book and the controversy around it do follow the theme of culture clash.
  • The revert of Group dynamics is in itself non-sensical, but lets call it a win for pseudoscience, good job pseudo-scientist.
