Summary

low-res image of poster for Piranha (1978), directed by Joe Dante and written by John Sayles

Fair use for B movie

This image is being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I (DCGeist) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. it is a low resolution copy of a movie poster;
  2. it does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the film or poster in any way;
  3. copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the artwork on another poster; and
  4. the image is significant because it illustrates (a) a significant and representative 1970s B movie by filmmakers who wouldgo onto renown in other forms of the medium and (b) the marketing of such movies during the historical period in question
