Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's New Dinosaur (映画ドラえもん のび太の新恐竜, Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Shin Kyōryū) is a Japanese anime film. It is a sequel to 2006 remake and it's a completely different story than the original. The screenplay is written by Genki Kawamura - the producer of Your Name, The Boy and the Beast and Weathering with You. This is the first Reiwa-era Doraemon movie. The film celebrates 50 years of the Doraemon franchise.[1]
It was originally scheduled to release in Japan on 6 March 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan, the film was delayed to 7 August 2020.[2]
Story
Nobita accidentally found a fossil dinosaur egg mixed with rocks in the dinosaur fossil exhibition site that he had visited before. He returned it to its original state with the “Time Turban”. After hatching, the egg hatches a new species of dinosaur that is not named in the Cosmic Encyclopedia and names them Kyū and Myū. Although they want to take care of them secretly, there are dinosaurs in the city still discovered by residents; Nobita and his friends were forced to bring them back to the Cretaceous period 66 million years ago – in their time. Along the way, there is a group of mysterious foes who hope to steal Kyu and Myu from Nobita.[3]
