The 2019 logo for the Franchise 500

The Franchise 500 is an annual listing of the top 500 American franchising companies complied by Entrepreneur magazine, through a submission and review process.[1] The ranking is determined by finances, costs, size, growth, support, and brand strength.[2] The list includes both public and privately held companies, and has been published annually since 1979.[3][4]

Qualifications

The magazine complies its ranking of the companies on a set of criteria—franchises are assessed across five pillars including: costs and fees, size and growth, support, financial strength and stability, and brand strength. Alongside the main ranking, Entrepreneur includes additional lists with the publication of the Franchise 500, organized by 6 categories: “Top Global,” “Top Brands," "Fastest Growing", "Top New," "Any Budget," and "Top Franchises for Veterans."[5]
