SBS World News Channel is a television channel available to digital television viewers in Australia, first broadcasting on June 22 2002. The channel is the first digital multichannel for the Special Broadcasting Service. When news programs are not being broadcast, the station displays weather information, text news headlines, and commercial advertising.

Programming

The SBS World News Channel broadcasts a wide range of news from around the world in languages other than English, with over 200 news programs per week. The news programs are essentially retransmissions of bulletins from major TV channels throughout the world and include:

These programs are also presented on SBS TV, along with PBS's Nightly Business Report and News Hour, and the English version of Deutsche Welle's bulletin, as part of its WorldWatch timeslot.

Earth TV

Earth TV is broadcasted on the SBS World News Channel when news programs are not broadcast. It also acts as a filler when news programs are delayed.
