⭠ Last week's report

It's Kamala Harris week, plus several Indian women. With overlap.

Rank Article Class Views Image Notes/about
Kamala Harris 11,880,848 California lawyer and senator who was announced this week as the Democrat VP pick with running-mate #9. She was a popular choice, had a brief presidential campaign last year, and brings the rest of her family to the list. In the days after her selection, birtherism was reborn: though she was definitely born in California, with an American father, she is not white, which is enough to send certain people into discredit mode.
Shyamala Gopalan 2,104,552 An Indian lawyer who migrated to the U.S., and mother of #1. While in the last weeks this list has been packed with Indians due to Bollywood drama, Shyamala is one of few this week.
Maya Harris 1,644,390 A lawyer, political advisor, and one of Hillary Clinton's political advisors during the 2016 election, she is also the sister of VP candidate #1.
Donald J. Harris 1,640,562 This Donald J. in current-related politics was a Democrat, the father of #1. Note that the redirect Donald Harris (professor), with 614,168 views this week, would have made it onto the list itself if not being counted here.
Douglas Emhoff 1,428,411 The husband of #1, and another lawyer.
QAnon 1,423,049 What would American politics be without a conspiracy theory or two?
The Umbrella Academy (TV series) 991,083 Netflix released the second season of this a little while ago, setting the apocalypse in Dallas. The moral of the story seems to be that even when you try really hard, you can still get everything wrong? That, or join a cult.
Deaths in 2020 858,600
Joe Biden 852,717 While current president Trump (#18) has spent a lot of time on this list, the Democrats are presently occupying a lot of the top 10. Biden is Trump's competition as the countdown to November's election continues. He picked a running mate, #1, this week.
Gunjan Saxena 814,887 An Indian female air force pilot, a movie about her life was released August 12 on Netflix.
Meena Harris 782,459 Another lawyer and niece of #1.
2020 World Snooker Championship 587,179
Collin Morikawa 574,449
List of most-disliked YouTube videos 543,682
Pizzagate conspiracy theory 535,487 Here's that other conspiracy theory.
2020 Beirut explosions 521,154
Shakuntala Devi 520,430 Another Indian woman who was the subject of a recent biopic, this one on Amazon Prime.
Donald Trump 509,224 He doesn't like #1.
Belarus 480,655 Election, protests, political exile, maybe some torture?
Susan Rice 461,654
Political positions of Kamala Harris 457,683
Rahat Indori 455,778 This Bollywood star died of something related to COVID-19.

Tony West (attorney) 444,182 As the article title suggests, he's another lawyer. Yes, he's related to #1: brother-in-law.
COVID-19 pandemic 437,996 Just because the WP page is getting less views doesn't mean it's less important.

Honorable mentions:

  • 26 Beau Biden (431,336): The deceased son of #9 was a colleague of #1; this relationship is cited as one reason why she was picked over other candidates.
  • 27 Kamala (wrestler) (388,231): A wrestler who died this week and, strangely enough, is also called Kamala Harris. Maybe that added a few more pageviews.
