Former lead singer of the Seattle-based grunge band Alice in Chains, Layne revolutionized the sound of rock music. With his soul-piercing vocals teamed up with his passion for singing, Layne's legacy will forever be remembered by his family, former bandmates, and loyal fans forever. Tragically, he was found dead in his home after an apparent heroin overdose. Even though he is no longer with us, his music will forever live on. Former Alice in Chains guitarist and songwriter Jerry Cantrell now has his own band with new original music, and if you are lucky enough to attend on of his shows, you will be rewarded with the gift of he and his band covering many of the great Alice in Chains tunes. In summation, Layne Staley was an asset to the music community and to humanity and will be forever missed. God bless you brother.
