A Droga da Obediência is a book by Brazilian writer Pedro Bandeira, originally published 1984 in , and presents the group of teens Os Karas. The book, followed up with Pântano de Sangue, Anjo da Morte A Droga do Amor, Droga de Americana!.[1]

Synopsis

Miguel is leader of "Os Karas" gang, which unveils crimes and strangers mysteries. Besides him, the group is composed of Crânio, Magrí, Calu and Chumbinho. Miguel gathers the group in a hiding place (located under a trapdoor, which is inside a closet of cleaning products) to talk about the wave of disappearances that occurs in several schools, where twenty seven students have disappeared.

Main characters

Miguel-It has no nickname. It was he who decided to gather some friends and, as a joke, created a secret group at the school where he is president of the Student Union. It is he who leads the friends and defines the steps to be taken by the Os Karas. Chumbinho-Love of video game and computers, with his cleverness and bravery,he smells new adventure from afar. That was exactly what made Chumbinho discover the secret group at the school where he worked. Magrí- Best athlete at High School, is the great hope of an Olympic medal for Brazil. Although delicate and gentle, if it is necessary to save one of the friends or there is a new adventure, Magrí becomes a real “cat”, dangerous and ready to act, taking any risk. Calú-Actor and extremely extroverted and playful, he is always in a good mood, giving courage to the Karas during the adventure. Despite being the most beautiful boy at High School, really love Magrí. Crânio-He's the smart guy. Quiet and thoughtful, he is the chess champion and is the one who gets the best grades from school, and in the name of friends and adventures, he leaves everything when it comes to Maximum Emergency. Like Calú, he is in love with Magrí.[2]
