I am an Australian writer on science-type matters. Once a teacher, often a bureaucrat, I am now officially "retired", which is to say I can spend my days writing about science and history. You can see some of my recent books at http://members.ozemail.com.au/~macinnis/writing/books.htm -- from there, you will work out who is behind the user name, which is one that I use in a number of places. You may even deduce that I worked for some years on Webster's World Encyclopedia, a commercial online product, as both an editor and a contributor.

I write articles and books for both adults and children. I also do occasional radio talks for the ABC in Australia, and you can find links to those at http://members.ozemail.com.au/~macinnis/writing/others.htm or to see what I have said about Wikipedia, see http://www.abc.net.au/rn/science/ss/stories/s1612253.htm

Since I tend to use the Internet to dig up data (and have done so since 1991), I keep coming across Wikipedia articles, and I have recently started doing small edits, mainly fixing typos. Anyhow, I decided it was time I became a real user and made a decent contribution. This page will serve as a place holder until I have time to do more.
