This page is within the scope of the Wikipedia Teahouse, a project to help new users on Wikipedia. Please visit the project page, where you can join the discussion.
There has been a recent influx of extended-confirmed edit requests turned host requests here. This page has been defunct since around 2014, and any talk here that is not related to the host lounge page should be moved to a different venue, or removed entirely. If you are interested in becoming a host, please apply at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Host start.
Are you...
»An editor who understands how Wikipedia works? Yes.
»Helpful to new people, with a clear and friendly manner? Yes.
»Familiar with the Teahouse project? Yes.
»Someone who has been here for at least 30 days and have made at least 500 mainspace edits? Yep! Factors guy (talk) 00:05, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not done@Factors guy: You are evidently not yet competent in the ways of Wikipedia, and have yet to make a single mainspace edit. Whilst that is itself not an issue, you are wholly unsuited at this time to being a Teahouse Host. Please don't waste your time and ours; repeating your request is not going to achieve anything. Just slow down, as requested on your talk page. Nick Moyes (talk) 01:13, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To editor 2006nishan178713: we'd love to! You certainly meet one important requirement, which is you must want to become a host. There is another important requirement, which is to possess a lot more editing experience on Wikipedia than you now have. Please return and become a host after you have gained a lot more editing experience. You must learn how to answer a new editor's questions, such as "How do I rename Wikipedia articles?" and "How do I write new articles?" and so on. Thank you so much for wanting to become a host!P.I. Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 15 August 2020
Hi,On 15Aug2020,I submitted a request to be an editor in wikipedia.
I was told that I need to be experienced in Wikipedia editing.
I want to clear that I an a professional editor
and i have been editing many publications.
Please make me a host 2006nishan178713 (talk) 05:23, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Being marked as a Host here doesn't actually mean anything, anyone can answer questions at the Teahouse (given that they know enough to assist). The Teahouse gives advice about how to edit Wikipedia, and you need to have been a consistent editor here for at least a few months to know how to answer questions about editing Wikipedia. I would recommend just expanding some already-existing articles, then in a few months when you have a few hundred edits you should definitely come and reply to some questions at the Teahouse. – Thjarkur(talk)11:09, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 22 August 2020
Not done If this is a request to be added to the list of Hosts, since being unblocked you have not gained sufficient experience. Being a Host does not, however, give you any additional powers (apart from superhuman strength; invisibility; the power to read minds and to see through walls). You are welcome to post any questions you might have about editing Wikipedia at any time at the Teahouse question page. Nick Moyes (talk) 15:40, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 25 August 2020
Not done@Abhiraam.chyren: If this is a request to be added to the list of Hosts, we must decline at this time as you appear to be a brand new editor here and do not yet have sufficient editing experience to be able to help others when they encounter problems. You are welcome to watch, look and learn, or to chip in when you can genuinely assist someone when they do get stuck. Anyone can do that - you do not need to list yourself as a Host. Nor does being a Host give you any additional powers (apart from superhuman strength; invisibility; the power to read minds and to see through walls). You are welcome to post any questions you might have about editing Wikipedia at any time at the Teahouse question page. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 10:42, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've been working hard to improve Wikipedia Quality since I created my Wiki Account. I request you to provide me the honor to host the Teahouse and serve new users with appropriate & best information they need. Let me contribute to the great world of WikiPedia. This template must be followed by a complete and specific description of the request, that is, specify what text should be removed and a verbatim copy of the text that should replace it. "Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y".
The edit may be made by any extended confirmed user. Remember to change the |answered=no parameter to "yes" when the request has been accepted, rejected or on hold awaiting user input. This is so that inactive or completed requests don't needlessly fill up the edit requests category. You may also wish to use the {{EEp}} template in the response. To request that a page be protected or unprotected, make a protection request.
