Butterhuizen is located in the County of Heerhugowaard. Heerhugowaard is a city in North-Holland, Netherlands.


Geography

Butterhuizen is situated in the south of Heerhugowaard. The city of Heerhugowaard is 5 miles north of Alkmaar and 35 miles north of the famous city of Amsterdam.


Democraphics

Butterhuizen is the home of nearly 1200 families. There are about 1200 homes, including 400 rental homes. The average houseprize is about 280.000 euro's. However there are houses with a cost of more than 500.000 euro's. This makes Butterhuizen a very expensive township. The average household has an income of about $40.000 dollar a year (est03/04) which is about one and a half times more than the nationwide income. The average household size is 3.2 and the average family size is 3.30.


History

The township of Butterhuizen was built during the late 80s begin 90s. All the construction work was finished late 1993. And begin 1994 all streets were paved.
