Fountain contest tracking
Do we want to use Fountain to track contest entires? Wiki Asian Month has used this tool quite effectively in the past. Gamaliel (talk) 13:37, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
A problem
I am from Bangladesh and I checked the redlinks related to that country. Looks like some of the names there are not even in Latin alphabet, and many are only half the name, or even less. Besides half the list is made up of Badminton players, while a country of 200 million people and two thousand years should have way many more women to feature, not just badminton players (Bangladesh doesn't even play badminton any good). What to do? Aditya(talk • contribs) 01:42, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- The data is coming from Wikidata, and looks like some person/people have gone mad on there adding loads of badminton players who have competed at Bangladesh Badminton Championships. The non-Latin names is fixed- someone has added their Latin alphabet names to Wikidata, and I did a list update, so they're now listed by their Latin alphabet spellings. - Agreed there are loads of badminton players in every country. Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Missing articles by occupation/Badminton. Not many articles have been created from this data dump. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 19:17, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Aditya Kabir: Unfortunately we are reliant on Wikidata for this information. We can help fix the information that is there, and we can add new people to Wikidata so they will show up on these lists. If you are aware of any lists of famous Bangladeshi people I can try to add them to Wikidata. Gamaliel (talk) 13:54, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Other problems
Another issue I noticed is that most of the North Korean footballers are duplicates in Wikidata. So I'm slowly going through them on Wikidata to merge the duplicates, and then I'll run the list updater. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:09, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- NK footballer issue fixed- about 25 duplicates on Wikidata fixed. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:22, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Do dual nationals count?
Hypothetical for now, but would dual nationals count if one of their nationalities is Asian but the other is not (for example Sky Brown who is Anglo-Japanese)? I guess the answer is yes, but thought it was easier to confirm the rules now rather than after the contest begins. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:47, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

- @WomenArtistUpdates: I like them! Can we re-use them for November and December? Adding @SusunW, Antiqueight, and Victuallers for the review. --Rosiestep (talk) 01:12, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- Rosiestep Sure! I was thinking we could use them for the whole quarter. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 01:18, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- @WomenArtistUpdates:: Just what we need. Yes, of course we can re-use the same ones month by month.--Ipigott (talk) 06:12, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
