Re:Andel's Hotel Łódź

Thanks. I would be grateful if you could explain it to me. I don't know how to add interwiki. You could also check the article List of tallest buildings in Poland which I recently heavily edited to see if anything could be improved or changed.— Preceding unsigned comment added by PavKls (talkcontribs) 15:30, August 31, 2020 (UTC)

I finished Deadline 3,4 (Week 4,5) - Yunha Rho

Hello professor!

This is my sandbox link. https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%82%AC%EC%9A%A9%EC%9E%90:Yunha_Rho/%EC%97%B0%EC%8A%B5%EC%9E%A5

Please check and reply. Thank you. --Yunha Rho (talk) 13:29, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yunha Rho, This looks good for Deadline 4 (outline). But for Deadline 3 please add a reference to a live Wikipedia article (can be done on Korean Wikipedia).--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 00:51, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed Deadline 3 as you said. Please check! Thank you.--Yunha Rho (talk) 08:58, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yunha Rho, Can you link the article you completed your assignment on? Do you mean ko:프로듀시지?--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:15, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, professor! The link is correct.--Yunha Rho (talk) 16:50, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Finished Deadline3 / Kim Yoon(User name : BBam BBam)

Hello, professor. I'm Kim Yoon. I finished deadline 3! My sandbox page is : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:BBamBBam/sandbox Could you please check if I did Deadline 3 properly and give me feedback? Thank you! --BBamBBam (talk) 10:21, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

BBamBBam, Good start. You should add the translated title parameter. Language is Korean not Korea. Also, the link seems to be to the generic Ministry page, I don't see the term "K-quarantine" mentioned there. Finally, to complete this assignment you should add the refernce to a live Wikipedia article outside your sandbox. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:31, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I corrected the error you mentioned. Could you give me some feedback after watching it? --BBamBBam (talk) 10:25, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
BBamBBam, Good progress. Wikipedia cannot be used as a reference (see WP:SELFCITE). Please change www.koreaherald.com to The Korea Herald and try to add a reference outside your sandbox. Keep up the good work! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:14, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

PARK JIMIN, DEADLINE 3

Hello Piotr, I did work 'deadline 3'. But I don't know I did exactly. Anyway here is my sandbox User:Jiminewiki/sandbox

Please check, thank you

--Jiminewiki (talk) 16:48, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jiminewiki, I recommend that you watch the video about how to add a properly formatted reference and complete the Training: For Students module “Adding citations” . You have added footnotes but they are totally not formatted; you should try using the Wikipedia:Citation templates and contain author's name, publisher info, date of publication, date of access, title (original and translated if necessary). Good luck! Finally, to complete this assignment you should add the reference to a live Wikipedia article outside your sandbox. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:54, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus, I tried it again please check, thank you--Jiminewiki (talk) 09:35, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Jiminewiki, I see you have added a bit more information here, but we need more. Please use the citation templates which is the default mode in the visual editor. Also, please look at the sandboxes of your colleagues linked on this page, for which I told them they completed the assignment; there you can see the correct coding / layout. Again, I recommend you use the citation templates and fill in all possible parameters (fields) you see. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:35, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I completed Deadline 3

Hello, professor. I'm YEJI. I've done the Wiki assignment(Deadline3). I'd appreciate it if you could check that I did it right. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:P.YEJI/sandbox --P.YEJI (talk) 17:47, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

P.YEJI, Good start. References should contain information on the original date and author (for example, the first one is missing "Choi Ji-won"). A Korean language reference on English Wikipedia should contain the translated title, please add it as well. Finally, to complete this assignment you should add the reference to a live Wikipedia article outside your sandbox. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:50, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus Professor, I tried it again, so please check. Did I do it right? P.YEJI (talk) 10:42, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
P.YEJI, Good job, your references in sandbox look good. Now try adding one outside your sandbox to a real Wikipedia article (English or Korean). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:08, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus Hello, Professor! I put it outside the sandbox on Wikipedia. I'd appreciate it if you could check it out. https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%95%85%EC%84%B1_%EB%8C%93%EA%B8%80
P.YEJI Yes, [1] looks good! Just remember to sign your posts in the future. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:02, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deadline3 (Week4) JeongYoon Oh, Modified

Professor! I checked your feedback. Is this the right way? Please check again! Thank you. --JeongYoon Oh (talk) 07:51, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

JeongYoon Oh, This looks good but you should add a Korean translated title to all English references on Korean Wikipedia. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:32, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your feedback. I have changed all reference titles in English to Korean. Please check again! Thank you! https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EA%B3%A0%EA%B8%B0_%EC%97%86%EB%8A%94_%EC%9B%94%EC%9A%94%EC%9D%BC --JeongYoon Oh (talk) 10:31, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

JeongYoon Oh, In [2], good job adding Korean translations, but the original title should be kept as well. English references on Korean Wikipedia should have both English and Korean title. Same for Korean reference on English Wikipedia. Only Korean on Korean or English on English does not need a translation.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:05, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Professor! As you said, I added the original title. Please check again. Thank you. https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EA%B3%A0%EA%B8%B0_%EC%97%86%EB%8A%94_%EC%9B%94%EC%9A%94%EC%9D%BC --JeongYoon Oh (talk) 03:24, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

JeongYoon Oh, Well done!--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:21, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[Deadline3 : Week4] I'm Jeong hyemin.

Hello Piotr, I did work 'Deadline3 : Week4' [3] Is this right? I'll waiting your feedback. thanks :) Hyemm (talk) 10:08, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hyemm, Yes, [4] looks correct, but please double-check if there are author (journalist) names that can be added if they are not present in the automatically generated citation. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 00:53, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I did. thanks! Hyemm (talk) 05:57, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hyemm, Good job!--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:25, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Hyejin Yun. I finished the assignment Deadline3.

Hello, professor. I finished the assignment Deadline3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Hyejin_Yun/sandbox I wrote a little bit. Please check it. I would appreciate it if you could tell me what to revise. Thank you! --Hyejin Yun (talk) 11:47, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hyejin Yun, For the reference in your sandbox, please add Korean title. Also, please use a citation template. Remember that to finish this assignment you should add a reference to a real, live Wikipedia article outside your sandbox (English or Korean). Good luck! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:20, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Professor, Thank you for checking my sandbox.I revised the reference. Is it right? Please check it again! Thank you! --Hyejin Yun (talk) 04:34, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hyejin Yun, While you added the Korean title, you also removed all the other (good) content from the previous version. A good reference should have all the information, the mantra 'more is better' is a good rule of thumb. Please try again. Good luck! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:00, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I received feedback and modified Deadline 3 / Choi Sojeong

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MZ_generation

Hello, professor. I changed the reference title to English and added and article. I couldn't find a separate English title because it was only a reference made in Korean. So I translated the Korean title into English, will it be okay? Please Check. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sojeong.choi (talkcontribs) 12:11, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sojeong.choi, As noted in the videos about sandbox and related, I strongly advise you to work on your new submissions in your sandbox, not in the mainspace. An article submitted to the mainspace may be deleted or can be significantly changed by other editors as has already been done here. Regarding the references, the first one is not formatted at all. The other references should contain the Korean title as well as English if they are in Korean (please also see my reply to your earlier post above). Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:16, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

--Sojeong.choi (talk) 09:12, 27 September 2020 (UTC)Piotrus[reply]

I understood the professor's feedback. Share sandbox URL again. I will continue to add content. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sojeong.choi/sandbox

Sojeong.choi Please remember to sign your posts. The references look much better, through ideally the translated title should be in a dedicated field. Please see how I separated those here [5]. Also, please remember that to finish this activity you'll need to add a reference to a public article (outside a sandbox). As your article is not finished, it has been moved back to your private userspace at User:Sojeong.choi/MZ generation. We will publish it (make it public) in December or so when it is finished. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:22, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

deadline3) I edited my sandbox

hello mr.k i'm Jeon Dain in sociology of everyday life. I changed my sandbox. I translated the topic's title. And i add some references. Please check it for me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:JeonDain/sandbox

And i add citation outside of my sandbox. Thank you. Good night--JeonDain (talk) 12:47, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

JeonDain, The references look better. Now, to complete the assignment, please add a reference to a real, live article on English or Korean Wikipedia. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:22, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template:U:Piotrus i add a reference in 'Hwangbo' article. Is that wrong?— Preceding unsigned comment added by JeonDain (talkcontribs) 11:52, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

JeonDain I see it now: [6]. In the future it is helpful if you can tell me what article you edited and link it as soon as possible, then I can find your submission faster. Anyway, good job using the citation template, the reference just needs the following fixes: please add the name of the author (journalist), and translate the reference title to English (keep the Korean, but add the translated title to the new dedicated field called 'translated title'). Good luck! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:17, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Piotrus thank you for your kindness. I add them all. And i'm so sorry that i didn't left the url of the article — Preceding unsigned comment added by JeonDain (talkcontribs) 22:46, September 27, 2020 (UTC)

JeonDain Ok, plese let me know when you fix the issues above, and also please remember to WP:SIGN your posts. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:22, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed Deadline3

I'm Si-eun Jang, I fixed what you told. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jang_Sieun/sandbox Here! Honestly, I'm not sure if this is what you said. I'm still not sure. Wikipedia is too difficult for me. Plz check this! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jang Sieun (talkcontribs) 12:48, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jang Sieun, Your sandbox references look good. Now, please add a reference to a real Wikipedia article (outside your sandbox). It can be done on English and Korean Wikipedia. (Also, please remember to sign your future posts correctly). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:24, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Pioturs I'm really sorry, but I'm not sure what you're talking about. Because I left it in a real Wikipedia article and added it to my dashboard. ([7])

If this isn't what you're talking about, I don't know how to do it. Or can you explain in more detail what you mean? --Jang Sieun (talk) 09:37, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jang Sieun, Thank you for linking to the Korean Wikipedia article. Above you just linked to your sandbox, so I couldn't find your other edit. This is good. Well done! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:19, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deadline 3) KIM Yujin

Hi, professor. I'm KIM Yujin taking your class 'Sociology of Globalization'.

I added some citations about ‘Cognitive bias’ at my sandbox. Here, this is my sandbox link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Iamyujinkim/sandbox

Also, I edited a live Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_bias#cite_note-68, but I'm not sure whether I did it correctly.

Thank you for your response in advance.Iamyujinkim (talk) 13:23, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Iamyujinkim, Good start! The references in your sandbox need the following fixes: Jo, not JO, English title should be added (keep the Korean as well), the publisher should be also added in English. The Korean Herald, not www.koreaherald.com for example. The reference added here is well formatted but it is in the wrong place. You should find an unreferenced part of an article, like a paragraph that has no reference, and find a reference for it or add a new paragraph with a reference. What you did was adding an external link with a reference formatting. Please try again. Good luck! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:13, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[Topic change] Hello, Professor. I'm Yeonsu Lim.

Hello, Professor. I'm Yeonsu Lim. I'd like to ask if I can change the topic. Last time I mentioned that I wanted to translate articles about Resource mobility (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resource_mobilization) and Political opportunity(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_opportunity) into Korean, but can I translate articles about Technological change(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_change) instead of Resource mobility? In other words, the topics I want are the Political opportunity and the Technological Change. --Ylim2548 (talk) 14:04, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ylim2548, Yes, this is fine. Please update your assigned topics on our Dashboard. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:21, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[Deadline3] Hello professor. I’m Yeonsu Lim.

Hello professor. I’m Yeonsu Lim. I finished Wiki assignment Deadline3 on my sandbox(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ylim2548/sandbox) and I also edited a Wiki article that had a problem with reference. https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=SF9_(band)&action=edit&section=25 (number 47) Thank you. --Ylim2548 (talk) 15:16, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ylim2548, Good start! The only fix for your sandbox reference is to add a publisher to the second (English) reference. However, I don't see any edit of yours in the SF9 (band) article. Perhaps you forgot to save it? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:38, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good evening professor, this is Yang Ruixin from Sociology of Globalization.

I tried to translate an English article to Chinese in my sandbox(https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:SIA_YANG/%E6%B2%99%E7%9B%92).

I haven't all finished it yet, Part of it has been translated now. it is a bit difficult for me, I have been groping for a long time,Please check if what I did is right, Thankyou!

Then, I tried to edit a Wikipedia article(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China%E2%80%93South_Korea_Free_Trade_Agreement). Please check!

Happy Chuseok!SIA YANG (talk) 15:58, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

SIA YANG, Your translation seems to be progressing well. Please let me know if there are any parts that are especially difficult and I'll see if I can help (with coding or such, I am afraid I do not speak Chinese).
Good job adding content and references to the article on China–South Korea Free Trade Agreement. When citing a Chinese-language source on English Wikipedia, please also include the original Chinese title like 中韩自由贸易协定谈判的会议纪要.
Good job! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:44, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus,Good afternoon, professor~ I have followed what you said to include the original Chinese title(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China%E2%80%93South_Korea_Free_Trade_Agreement) Thank you very much for your guidance, I think I have learned a lot on Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_border_incidents_involving_North_and_South_Korea <-- this is the link to the article that I fixed.

--Baenayoung (talk) 10:44, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Baenayoung, Yes, the only remaining thing is to add the English translation of the Korean title to [10]. (Don't remove the Korean one but add English in the dedicated 'translated title' field). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:13, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Girls%27_Generation&diff=prev&oldid=980569630

I couldn't find where is the 'translation title field', so I just wrote 'English title' after the Korean title...! Is it okay??

--Baenayoung (talk) 07:27, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Baenayoung, This is ok, but you should find the 'translated title' parameter in the citation template and it there. I think I show how to do it in the how-to-add a reference video. Also, you should add your reference to the article body, as it is the only ciation in the lead and as such it stands out and may be removed by others if they deem it unnecessary there - see also WP:CITELEAD. [Deadline 3] Park you jin of Sociology of Everyday Life 2020 class

I did my assignment 4(deadline 3)! I added some reference in my sandbox. Here is the link : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Park_you_jin/sandbox

Also, i edited bad references of Wikipedia articles. Here is the link that i edited : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Im_Soo-jung . I added citation of [56] and [57].

I am little confused whether my assignment is right. If i did something wrong, please tell me! I will correct that problem as soon as possible! Thank you for checking my assignment!!!--Park you jin (talk) 07:52, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Park you jin, Good job. For your sandbox, the references need the following fixes 1) add the name of the author (journalist) instead of Herald, The Korea 2) change the publisher name from www.koreaherald.com to The Korea Herald 3) Korean language reference on English Wikipedia should have its title translated (in a separate field, do not remove the Korean title). Also please likewise translate the title (keeping the Korean one) for [13]. You are almost done! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:14, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus Professor! i fixed my sandbox's reference and also Wikipedia reference. And i have one question about what you said "in a separate field". Does it mean i have to make 2 reference at one?(one is English and one is Korean) ? I just fixed my reference the way adding English title next to Korean reference. If it is wrong, i'll fix one more time! Thank you for letting me know what i have to fix!--Park you jin (talk) 10:43, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Park you jin, Your fix is good and you got full credit but the perfect way of fixing this is to use a dedicated field in the cite template. On English Wikipedia it s called trans_title= . Please take a look at the fix here [14]. You can find the field in visual editor too under the list of other fields. See if you can fix the other reference you added this way. I hope this helps, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:11, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Re) Hello, Professor. I'm MINJU KIM. I finished Deadline 3.

Professor! I added the author's name. I also added references to live Wikipedia articles outside the sandbox. I left a talk message saying that I corrected it yesterday, but I don't think you checked it. I'd appreciate it if you could check.--KIM MINJJU (talk) 13:14, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

KIM MINJJU, Yes, I haven't seen the Wikipedia message from yesterday's night yet (you left it at 10 pm) . Unfortunately your submission to [15] was rejected by another Wikipedia volunteer. The reason is that a reference should be added to the end of an unreferenced sentence, but your reference has been added to the end of the article and it is not clear which content it is referencing. Further, please format your reference using Wikipedia:Citation templates (which is the default way of adding a reference if you are using the WP:Visual editor, which is what I advise all of you to do; if you are not using the VE please watch our tutorial videos about basics of Wikipedia editing and such where I explain how to use it and of course please watch the video about how to add a reference). Please let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to offer more advice. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:22, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Woojieun, Your sandbox references are good. Now, to finish the assignment, please find an unreferenced sentence in a public Wikipedia article (i.e. outside your sandbox) and add a reference there. It can be done in English or Korean. Good luck! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:27, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Woojieun, Good job, but why did you remove the refend template from the end of the article? See [17]. Also I am unclear why "Mussolini's Rise to Power in Italy" is added to the history of democracy. He was not a democratic leader. Another editor could remove this. You may want to go to the article's talk page and explain why Mussolini should be mentioned in it. Please check my assignment. Thanks! Park Jueun (talk) 20:45, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Park Jueun, Good job, this is all good. I would however encourage you to try to add one more reference for extra credit to make sure you know how to add more complex ones; I recommend adding a newspaper reference because they contain more fields to fill in (author, publisher, etc). Week 4 assignment (Deadline 3 ) -YANZICHUAN

Hello, professor^_^,This is my sandbox address,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:YANZICHUAN/sandbox I translated a little bit about the first subject, and the second one I was still thinking. I wonder if the sandbox is being used correctly. Please check it out!thank you--YANZICHUAN (talk) 06:10, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

YANZICHUAN, Good start, but for translating to Chinese you should use a Chinese sandbox at zh.wikipedia.org . It will be easier if you work there than here, since some code may be different and won't copy nicely if you write it here first and then copy to Chinese. Anyway, the sandbox has nothing to do with Week 4 assignment, which is to add a reference to a Wikipedia article outside your sandbox (this can be done in English, Korean or Chinese). Han seung gu, Well, you are just starting, so there is a lot more to translate. I see you use hyperlinks (blue links) correctly. The reference, however, is incorrect. It is not clear what is the source, as you link to both Wikipedia and a book. Please watch the video on how to add a reference, and/or redo to the Training: For Students module “Adding citations” , and try to complete Week 4 deadline (which has nothing to do with the sandbox but you are of course welcome to use it for practice and ask me for assessment of your progress like you just did). KIM MINJJU, It is a minor thing, but I also recommend to use a different heading or replying in the previous heading if we are discussing the same issue (like the same deadline). Anyway, I am afraid your edits have been removed once again ([21]) and [22]) since you did the same error as before. This has also been explained by one of the editors who removed your edits who said "references should be placed alongside the information that is being cited, not randomly at the end of the article.". Please try to add a reference to the correct place. Good luck! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:29, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Question for Deadline 4 - Choiyewon

Hello, professor! Before starting a deadline 4 assignment, I have two questions. First question, Should I write an article in English or Korean ? or Doesn't it matter? Second question, Should I prepare an article about a topic that is not currently uploaded to Wiki? (Because Wikipedia has almost all the information in the world.) I will wait your reply. Always thanks a lot!--Choiyewon (talk) 15:00, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Choiyewon, I think we already chose your topics before, see our deadline 2 discussion. Since you are translating the articles, for Deadline 4, you just need to about 50% done with the topics you have chosen, so I can give you early feedback on what to fix. I hope this helps Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:27, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus, Thank you professor. But I have a question yet. I already done my translation homework. And then Is there only writing article left for me? Should I write an article in English or Korean ? or Doesn't it matter? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Choiyewon (talkcontribs) 01:10, September 29, 2020 (UTC)
Choiyewon, You seem to be very skilled in mastering wiki technology, congratulations (except you did forget to [[WP:SIGN|sign your post just above). I think this is the fastest I have seen any student complete the main project as translating English content into ko:인권철학 and ko:디지털 권리 actually completes the main assignment (Deadlines 5, 7 and 8). All you have left is Deadline 6. You can work on the corset controversy topic for extra credit, and you can also watch the Week 11 video about nominating your articles for the Wikipedia's front page (but it mostly covers how to do it in English, for Korean, please read ko:위키백과:알고 계십니까). I will also note that each article you create in English or Korean is a good addition to your digital portfolio. When interviewing for jobs in the future, you can list your creations as proof that you mastered the Wiki technology. The more articles you translate, the better your portfolio will look like, so even if you don't need extra credit, I encourage you to continue making the wiki edits for your own benefit. Perhaps you could also help some of your classmates who have more difficulty mastering the wiki skills (see other posts on this talk page).
Piotrus, I'm surprised I only have deadline 6 left. And I'm proud that my assignment progresses fast. Thank you for answering the questions well. Then, I will try to think of a way to get extra points before starting deadline6 project. Question for Deadline 4 - Jung a Byeon

hello professor. I have a question about my fifth week assignment. If my task is to translate only (not a new topic), is it to be done in my sandbox? Or is it on Wikipedia that I choose? I'll be waiting for your answer.

--Byeon jung a (talk) 10:21, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Byeon jung a, If the topic already exists, you can expand it in the public space and you do not have to do it in your sandbox. But sandbox is a good place to practice until you feel confident you can edit publicly visible articles without making any mistakes. You can always copy existing short article to your sandbox and expand it there, and then copy it back to the public space. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:28, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Template:Piotrus

For now, I have translated some of the Wikipedia texts I chose from English into Korean (reference not yet made). Here I have some questions. Should I translate the entire text of Wikipedia I chose into Korean? Completely the same? And does the meaning of 50% completion you said mean to finish one article when I have to translate two articles? And please check if I'm doing it right. --Byeon jung a (talk) 09:04, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Byeon jung a, For the outline, 50% of a single article is enough, through 50% of both is better if you'd like me to provide you with more feedback. The translation at User:Byeon jung a/sandbox is a good start but I recommend you copy it to Korean Wikipedia where you have a sandbox as well. This will allow you to start fixing any code issues or such. Finally, yes, you should translate all text from English Wikipedia to Korean, but you can add more for extra credit if you find sources you want to use to expand it. Good job and Happy Chuseok! @KIM MINJJU: Great! Practice makes better! This is better (placement-wise). The only remaining issue is that you should add a reference to an unreferenced sentence or paragraph, and the one you've added is to a sentence that already has a reference, and so your edit, while technically sound (and completing the assignment) is redundant, effort-wise, as far as improving Wikipedia goes. I encourage you to try to do it again for an extra credit point, and reference an unreferenced sentence on English or Korean Wikipedia. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:31, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

EggSushi, Good job, this is enough to complete the assignment. It looks like a good start but needs significant expansion. Please ensure that every sentence or at least paragraph has a reference. @Ginipigs: I assume that Westernization is your topic of choice for Deadline 2? It is fine, but if you are translating it to Korean please note you'll need to choose one more topic. As for Deadline 3, your sandbox does not contain any reference for me to review, and in either case, please note that you will need to add a proper reference to a public article outside the sandbox. 라유신, This is a good start, the layout and refrences are good. When you talk about particular events, please say when they happened (like "YouTuber 'Charm PD'(참피디) said..." - when? Which years, which month? Also, the lead should contain the Korean hangul spelling for the "back advertisement". Finally, it would be very helpful if you could find any English sources, particularly so we can check how the term "back advertisement" is used in English. Keep up the good job, and Happy Chuseok! Moving files to Commons

Hey, long time no see!

I was reviewing some files, and found ko:파일:JOJUNGSIK.jpg @ kowiki. I was originally going to import it to Commons, but later found out Lee Jaeseong - probably your student back then - uploaded as if that was their own work. I cleaned up the stuff so it's correctly attributed, but you might want to tell your students that there is now a tool to move files automatically to Commons named FileImporter (ko) which is enabled by default @ kowiki. (I've mostly translated the help page in Korean for your students :D)

Enjoy the Chuseok, and these days, stay safe. — regards, Revi 17:31, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

-revi, Thanks! In general, I always ask students to upload images directly to Commons. Happy Chuseok! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:44, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Questions For Wiki Deadline(4)

Hello Professor,I'm YEJI, I have some questions about the Wiki Deadline4 assignment.

1)Does having to write at least 50 percent mean that both documents must be written at least 50 percent? For your information, I translate existing articles, not new topics.
2)And can I put both documents on the sandbox?

I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you! P.YEJI (talk) 06:02, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

P.YEJI, It is ok to just do 50% for one, but if you do both I can give you more feedback. You should have two different sandboxes, one for each article. Also, if you are translating to Korean, please create the sandboxes on Korean Wikipedia, this will help us to find any coding problems early. (Copypaste from English to Korean will not always work for some code like references). Happy Chuseok! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:45, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deadline4 - Jo Jonghwa

Also, if you are translating to Korean, please create the sandbox on Korean Wikipedia and move your draft there, this will help us to find any coding problems early. (Copypaste from English to Korean will not always work for some code like references). Happy Chuseok! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:47, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I finished the Wiki assignment(Deadline4). - Youngryun,Chun

Hello, professor. I am Youngryun,Chun. I finished Wiki assignment 4. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Chunyoungryun(2016014102)/sandbox I'll be waiting for your feedback.Chunyoungryun(2016014102) (talk) 15:29, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good start. The layout is good, but of course we need much more content (and references and pictures), Please make sure to format references so that they have the author name, and English (translated) title in addition to Korea. For a book reference, please cite the pages you are using Happy Chuseok! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:50, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed Deadline 2 / ji eun Bang

Hello, I'm ji eun Bang. I have completed Deadline 2. I am going to translate to Korean "Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the environment". Here is link. Can I add this topic to the dashboard? Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ji eun Bang (talkcontribs) 16:37, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ji eun Bang, Good choice. Remember that if you translate to Korean, you will need to choose two topics. Yes, please add the one you chose to the Dashboard, it is approved. Try to keep to the deadlines, sign your posts correctly, and Happy Chuseok! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:52, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deadline4 JeongYoon Oh

My assignment is only to translate 'Meatless Monday' and 'Zero-Wast' articles into Korean. I finished translating 'Meatless Monday' because this assignment said it needs to translate about half of it. Is this the right way? Please check. Thank you!

JeongYoon Oh, Good job. This looks very good, though we need to fix some problems that originate in the imperfect English article, for example, reference 7 was not formatted. There is also some content that is missing a reference, and we will need to find some. Also, it would be good to find some pictures, and finally, we should add a section on Meatless Monday in Korea, as I am sure many readers of Korean Wikipedia would like to know about it. Have there been any MM events in Korea? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:58, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
