Club career
Youth
Traoré started out at Boca Barco's youth team in September 2014,[4] where he impressed at a Christmas tournament the same year.[2] The youngest on the field, Traoré was the tournament's top goalscorer.[2] With a number of Serie A clubs being interested in him, Traoré moved to Atalanta in 2015.[2]
While initially starting out in the Giovanissimi Regionali, the under-14 championship, Traoré began playing in the Campionato Juniores Nazionali, the under-19 championship.[2] With the Atalanta Primavera, Traoré played in the Final Eight, scoring against Roma in the final and helping his side win the Scudetto.[2] During the 2016–17 season he played for the under-15 side, before moving to the under-17 side the following season where he scored 12 goals in 27 appearances.[2] In 2018–19, Traoré scored 18 goals and made 13 assists in 42 games (between the under-17 and Primavera teams).[5] He won the Campionato Primavera 1 with Atalanta during that season,[6] as well as the 2019 Supercoppa Primavera at the start of the following season.[7]
Atalanta
Coming through the youth system, Traoré made his Serie A debut on 27 October 2019, coming on from the bench on the 79th minute against Udinese; he scored his first goal for Atalanta four minutes later in a 7–1 home win.[8] Traoré became the first player born in 2002 to score in the Italian top flight.[9]
