Dulquer Salmaan

Hello:

The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Dulquer Salmaan has been completed.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind regards,

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cheran (director), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rajadhi Raja. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
Congratulations for your success and hard-work in creating the first ever GA for a Malayalam actor (Dulquer Salmaan). Keep going. Charles Turing (talk) 18:35, 9 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As for GAs, it would be the best if there was at least one GA in every decade of Malayalam cinema, meaning the 30s has one film that is a GA, the 40s has one and so on. That has already happened with Tamil. Kailash29792 (talk) 12:12, 10 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: That will be really tough. But I can try if Charles Turing and you are with me! — JosephJames 16:58, 10 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Josephjames.me. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

RIP Charles Turing and Inside the Valley

Both have been blocked on sockpuppetry charges. Now is there anyone (apart from you) left to defend Malayalam film-related articles? Kailash29792 (talk) 06:06, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Kailash29792: Oh my god! Why Turing? I hope he'll be back somehow. I don't know anybody else who has contributed majorly to Malayalam film-related GAs. This is awful! — JosephJames 14:45, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Both have been indefinitely blocked. AniceMathew, JO Bieson, Kichappan, Turing and Inside the Valley... how long will this list go? I thought Turing and Inside the Valley were honest and policy-abiding editors, added by the fact that the latter knew sockpuppetry was illegal by catching numerous socks. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:07, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: I'm really confused. I don't know if I can carry on doing work on Malayalam film-related articles without the support of anyone. It won't be easy for sure. I hope you will help :D — JosephJames 13:27, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't quit. There may not be many die-hard GA/FA seeking editors on Malayalam film-related articles, but I can assist you in c/e and proofreading (I would watch Malayalam films if I got them on-demand in HD with subtitles). Kailash29792 (talk) 14:44, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: No. I won't quit. But it's really tough to keep on like this. If you want subtitles, torrent releases are almost the only option to see'em on demand. Else, buy or rent DVDs. — JosephJames 12:48, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

TNM Jawad

Hi, I am unconvinced on the notability of this article. Although I probably won't nominate it deletion, it is quite likely someone else will. If there's any more sources available I suggest adding them, remember Indian language newspapers are acceptable as well as English languages ones. Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 07:59, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Frayae: Hey, I could only find these sources as of now. He will be giving a TED talk in the near future as per his facebook page. I'll try and add more sources as and when I find it. Thanks! — JosephJames 08:04, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, I just thought it best to give you a heads up. Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 08:05, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Frayae: Hey, thanks to you, I searched once again and added a bit more material. Will that do any help? — JosephJames 08:32, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes that really does. Awards are good for showing notability, and an extra reference is good too. "Outstanding Achievement in Young" seems like a odd name for an award though. Is that translation official? Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 08:37, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Frayae: Yup. Strange name for an award, I agree :D — JosephJames 08:46, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Changed to "Outstanding Achievement in Young" category. That's better, right? — JosephJames 08:49, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Frayae:So, uh, could you, uhh, remove that notability warning? _/\_ No pressure :D — JosephJames 09:25, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
What I mean to the award is that in English I would think "young" is descriptive word and not a statement on it's own. I think "Youth Outstanding Achievement Award" would make more sense, if you follow my logic. And yes I will remove the tag. Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 09:28, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Frayae:I get you but that is what is written in the article. A rough translation of the relevant passage would go like this, "The last year, in Dubai, he received an award from the multimillionaire and ITL Group chairman Ram Buxani. In an event where around 20 multimillionaire entrepreneurs participated, Jawad received the achievement in the Outstanding Achievement in Young category". I know, what a mess! Also, thanks a lot man. Cheers! — JosephJames 09:42, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe it's supposed to be the "Young Entrepreneurs" category? Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 09:44, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Frayae:Should I edit it like that? I will edit it like that. — JosephJames 09:46, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Probably would make more sense to edit it like that. Good idea. Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 09:47, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Frayae: Thanks for everything mate. You're the sweetest :D — JosephJames 09:48, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Frayae:@Kailash29792: Hey guys! Could you take a look at the draft and see if it's fit enough to be an article? It's surely a stub but hopefully passes the notability test. Also, take a look at this if you can. I want to be more active on Wiki from now on. Hope you'll respond quickly. Cheers! — JosephJames 12:43, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Frayae is blocked, so she can't help. About Rathish Ambat, try adding more sections and find more sources using this. Kamala seems good to go per WP:GNG (though you could create and expand a production section), I don't know why they're stopping it. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:06, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: What happened to Frayae? She was such a kind soul. I don't know what more to add on Rathish Ambat tbh. There's no information on his early life. Also, no one really "stopped" Kamala per se. They just haven't reviewed it yet. Could you review it? Anyway, thanks for the feedback, mate. — JosephJames 13:20, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Cwmhiraeth: Inviting you too. I just want to get this over with. Sigh.
@Kailash29792: Busy-ah nanbaa? ;D — JosephJames 16:32, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: Do you know someone who could pass the Kamala draft? It seems you're busy with other works. Please do reply. — JosephJames 09:44, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Josephjames.me, behold. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:52, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: Okay, now I'll apologize to you for the incessant pinging and leave you on your way :P Much appreciated, bud. — JosephJames 09:58, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No issues Joseph. You weren't bothering me at all. In fact, I'm always happy to help... at least when I know I can. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:02, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: Can we do something about the Rathish Ambat one? As I told earlier, there's no information on his early life. Though the article is definitely a stub, I believe that he does pass the notability test. Your thoughts? — JosephJames 10:16, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Joseph, you answered your own question. Since he has made only one feature film so far, and his second one has just been announced, he still doesn't pass WP:PERSON as he has only received attention for his few works. Why not wait till there is at least one in-depth interview with him? Kailash29792 (talk) 10:24, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense. A bit annoyed that this will remain in the draftspace. Just when you finish one... Sigh. Will have to wait for a newspaper to publish that in-depth interview I guess. Thanks for all the inputs, again. — JosephJames 10:32, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Kailash29792: Hey Kailash! Could you take a look at this one? Probably a stub, but to me, the subject definitely seems worthy to be an article. — JosephJames 16:08, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You could add more about their history and it may be more worthy. --Kailash29792 (talk) 16:14, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: How about now? Though, I suddenly feel the 'Lucifer being currently the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever' quote doesn't really belong in the aricle. What do you think? Is the article otherwise alright? — JosephJames 16:35, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: Removed that part. What do you think about the draft? If it runs okay by you, a promotion to an article would be great :D — JosephJames 17:09, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: Heya! I have submitted the draft for review. If you aren't too busy... — JosephJames 05:25, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@StraussInTheHouse: Hey! Inviting you too! — JosephJames 06:30, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: Yaar, kahaan ho? :P Also off-topic, did you see Mamangam? I feel its worth a theater watch though it didn't really match upto my expectations. Just saying, I'm all sorts of bored here, hehee. — JosephJames 17:29, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's good you've expanded it further. But is that the best you can do for now? A suggestion though to give the article more weight: create a history section and transfer all the refs there to comply with WP:LEADCITE. Let the lead contain fewer details. And to answer your other question, I have not seen it since I don't know Malayalam and I doubt it may have been released with subs. --Kailash29792 (talk) 17:38, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792:  Done How does it look now?
And yeah, Mamangam has released with subs. There is also a dubbed version, but yeah, don't go for that :D — JosephJames 05:46, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Kailash29792: Hey Kailash! Since you have become my go-to guy for converting drafts into articles, could you also please take a look at this one? I had earlier made this article which was passed by Frayae who sadly isn't here anymore. I believe the Dilshad one matches that one's "quality". Cheers! — JosephJames 16:12, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Kailash29792: Hey. I have submitted the draft for review. If you are free, please take a look. — JosephJames 07:16, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: I guess I'll have to ping again to gain your attention, huh? :D — JosephJames 12:35, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: I'm so sorry. I hadn't seen that you were blocked. I hope it will be reviewed soon and that you can come back soon. I didn't set an email address simply because I don't have an account. I use my father's account for all the "activations". It's just not worth the effort to me. Anyway, so sorry again. — JosephJames 14:53, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@ReaderofthePack: Could you help me out? I know I'm calling you out of the blue, but please just try and read the draft and if you see that it's good enough, hopefully, pass it. Thanks! — JosephJames 14:49, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This should hopefully provide you some context. — JosephJames 14:51, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@ReaderofthePack: I had worked on it after hearing the arguments brought up by Largoplazo. Also, he himself did comment that "It's definitely better, nice", right? The coverage being recent might just be this person getting recognized late? Is any of that convincing enough? I don't wanna sound authoritative and that's why all my arguments end with a question mark. :D — JosephJames 05:20, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
