Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:12, 12 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A little late on this, but I think MLS Cup 1996 should run in 2021 to reflect the game's 25th anniversary, and hopefully align with a more normal sports season. SounderBruce 23:41, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

SounderBruce, I'm not sure why it's taken a month for you to decide this. As you know, we are normally pretty flexible on editor requests, but given that people have already been working on this, I'm going to have to give it a bit of thought and see what the other coordinators think. I'll get back to you as soon as I can Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:38, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
SounderBruce, OK, I'll pull that. Obviously I can't guarantee it will run next year, depends who is scheduling Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:29, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ireland's Future

Hi Jim, I just noticed that you deleted my page on Ireland's Future. I had literally spent days creating it to make sure it would be okay to get published.

Can you work with me please to allow me to edit it to match your standards rather than delete it immediately?

Thanks Siouxchief (talk) 07:18, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article deleted - why?

Hi Mr Jimfbleak, you must be missing the point... I tried to write an article on Italian Wikipedia about Ms Nemonte Nenquimo, a native American yet to be registered on the Italian Wikipedia (or to the English version by any means). Today is the Columbus' Day, and the Guardian published a "message to the Western World" by Ms Nenquimo (see https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/oct/12/western-worldyour-civilisation-killing-life-on-earth-indigenous-amazon-planet), who is considered by TIME between the 100 most influent human being on earth (see: https://time.com/collection/100-most-influential-people-2020/5888337/nemonte-nenquimo/) So, instead of showing gratitude, the Italian administrators considered the article a FAKE and deleted it shutting the all account, when they would have enriched it instead with the art of their better skills? WOW! I do not expect you to reply on this, as I am more prone to believe you all are but robots. Take care Mr Jimfbleak! Regards, LIBIZD Libizd (talk) 22:16, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted article

Hi Jim, I was working on the Boston pads article for a while, my biggest issue was finding the correct sources or strong sources to meet Wikipedias requirements as many of them were mentions, however, there were a couple of posts and news channels interviews that surprised me as they did not represent a reliable source. I was updating copy for a more neutral tone as suggested when this was removed/deleted and wondering how I can get it back? I saw your comment and wanted to clarify that I have no relation to them in any way, shape or form, just think this is a really good company that needs some help and that is doing a great job with the people they give service to. Is there a way I can get the old page back finish updating the copy and adding a couple of more references that I found that may just meet the requirements?

Thank you in advance, User:Steevems (talk) 13:43 13 October 2020 (EST)

User:Steevems, I'll have a look tomorrow to see if it meets our notability guidelines and if there is anything worth restoring. Note that I think this is a really good company that needs some help and that is doing a great job with the people they give service to explains the promo, but isn't in itself a reason to restore. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management, but you have plenty of such sources. Anyway, more tomorrow Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:19, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jim, thank you for taking the time to review again, I had changed the document quite a bit since the last feedback that was given my main mistake is that I used a lot of the info from their website and PR articles and got caught up with their same tone of voice, however, I have changed it and now it looks more neutral, I will make a couple of more changes to specific areas that you have mentioned and definitely will not republish until there are more stable references. Would you mind sending me the Wikipedia code as I would like to use that as a template for what I did mainly because it took me quite a bit to learn how to use the code for the layout and style of the article and having it will help me in the future. Rubiesar I'll clean it up a bit in the next few minutes since it has opinions and weasel words as well as facts, you'll then need to tag with {{subst:submit}} to attract a reviewer, I don't normally review drafts beyond removing unsuitable submissions Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:46, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TFA

Thank you today for A History of the Birds of Europe, introduced: "I've not been at FAC for some months, but I'm back with a new project. Henry Eeles Dresser was famous in his time, although he's almost forgotten now. This article is about his magnum opus. An FAC on a book is a new departure for me so please be gentle... and you'll find out why he wasn't afraid of being scalped by the Comanche too!" - Great! Grab some apples of award on my talk please, - no time to pick them right now. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:29, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Gerda Arendt, I'm working up a potential FA on a pioneering female ornithologist at the moment Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:52, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Publishing Shannon Global Energy Solutions entry

Thank you, again, for reviewing the draft article I've been working on. I took your advice and amended the article in several areas.

1) I removed text citing local Buffalo journals as sources. I added nationally recognized sources, such as Dun & Bradstreet and the U.S. Department of Energy.

2) I deleted the history section and added the company location to the article and provided a source for the infobox (i.e., Dun & Bradstreet) as well as revenue. I mentioned a national award, but deleted the awards section as you wrote that "looks spammy." I did link the one national award to a national trade magazine article.

Can you please let me know where things should go from here? Lakewood66 (talk) 22:00, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Continuing Shannon Global Energy Solutions entry edits

Thank you, sir, for your latest comments. I've brought the second paragraph higher in the lead, and I placed the revenue and employee count in the text, which is also in the infobox. Since the company has international sales, I've also given Celsius conversions. Again, thank you for your guidance, edits and suggestions. Lakewood66 (talk) 11:29, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
