Butterworth was one of the districts of the former parish of Rochdale, England, the others being Wuerdle and Blatchinworth.

Although a mere locality today, Butterworth was a township which included Milnrow within its borders.

Until the middle ot the 19th century Butterworth Hall stood in the fields on the River Beal. When the Hall burned down, it was replaced by Butterworth Hall Farm.
