The Fuzhou–Pingtan railway is a railway line currently under construction in China. It is expected to open in 2020.[1]

The railway is the first to serve Pingtan Island, which it accesses via the Pingtan Strait Road-Rail Bridge. Were the project to go ahead, the Taiwan to China rail link would also use this line.[2]

History

Construction began on 31 October 2013.[3]
