World Igbo Summit Group
World igbo summit Group is an umbrella body that brings all the Igbo people and it relevant bodies like Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), Ohanaeze Ndigbo, World Igbo Congress, Igbo Leadership Development Foundation and other notable bodies within the region together including present and past Federal and state political office holders, kings and many other Igbo great intellectuals, professionals, businessmen, Civil society activists, gender advocates and other experts of Igbo extraction residing in different parts of the world together to Foster the growth and unity of the region of the five state compromises of Imo State,Anambra state, Enugu state Ebonyi state, Abia State. The Group was formed in 2006 with ifedi Okwenna as the director General and strategic meetings are been held yearly to bring all igbo heads within and outside the country in order to foster unity and to project their 50-year visioning plan for 2066.[2][5][6]

Conflict
In 2018 the IPOB threaten for the summit not to be held insisting that the group would not accept anything other than a referendum for the rebirth of the Republic of Biafra. [7] [8]
WISG been the umbrella bodies of all heads in the biafra region states called for an end to all contention and conflict in Ohanaeze Ndigbo.It asked all aggrieved parties to come together in the larger interest of Igboland. [9]
Vision Plan
The World Igbo Summit Group adopted the resolutions for the immediate implementation of the 50-year visioning plan.The group took the decision at a post-summit meeting of the group held at the Gregory University, Uturu in Abia State on Saturday. The resolution articulates short term, mid-term and long-term strategic plans to “comprehensively tackle the development of Igboland” and promote the wellbeing of the people.It also strives to persuade Igbo entrepreneurs and investors in Nigeria and Diaspora to think-home and invest in Igboland. The meeting was co-chaired by General (Sen) Ike Nwachukwu, His Excellency Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Chief (Col.) Joseph Achuzie, Chief Francis Oji and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu. The well attended Summit has in attendance great leaders of Igbo extractions from the East and West of Igboland including His Royal Majesty Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe (Obi of Onitsha), Eze Eberechi (Chairman South East Council of Traditional Rulers), Prof, Joe Irukwu, Prof George Obiozor, Prof Ihechukwu Madubuike, Igwe Prof Chukwuemeka Ike, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, Prof Epiphany Azinge, Prof Pat Utomi, Igwe Engr S.O Okafor, Dr Gregory Ibe, Iyom Josephine Anenih, Chief Simon Nsobundu Okeke, Dr Ifedi Okwenna, Prof Maurice Iwu and so many other Igbo great intellectuals.
