Ishq Mein Marjawan 2 (transl. I will die in this love 2) is an Indian romantic thriller television series that premiered on 13 July 2020 on Colors TV. It serves as a spiritual sequel to the series Ishq Mein Marjawan.[1] Produced by Yash A Patnaik, it stars Helly Shah, Rrahul Sudhir and Vishal Vashishtha.[2]

Plot

Riddhima is a physiotherapist who is madly in love with Kabir, a cop who sends her as an undercover agent on a mission to catch Vansh Raisinghania, who is the head of illegal businesses. Riddhima goes to Vansh's cruise party as a party planner and with a series of events that unfold in the cruise leads to Vansh hiring Riddhima as Sia's physiotherapist. Eventually, as time passes, Vansh starts doubting her, and in order to find out her real mission asks her to marry him. She agrees to marry him because she wanted to finish her mission for Kabir. On the next day of marriage, Riddhima finds a statue of a girl. She finds out that the girl was Ragini, Vansh's ex-fiance. Riddhima believes that Ragini was killed by him and plans to find out the truth about Ragini's death as it could turn out to be big evidence against Vansh.

Next, she comes across a secret room. Riddhima then goes inside the room where she finds a saree, some jewelery, a painting, and another statue of a woman. The woman in the painting turns out to be Vansh's biological mother who left him without saying a word when he was young. Slowly, after listening to his story, Riddhima starts developing a soft corner for Vansh. Meanwhile, it is revealed that Kabir had actually never loved Riddhima and was only using her for his mission and he is actually Anupriya's son before marriage. Kabir and Anupriya want to usurp Vansh's position and businesses. Later, in the mansion, Vansh begins to fall for Riddhima after she takes a bullet to save him. But, contrary to Kabir's expectations, Riddhima also starts to fall for Vansh. Fearing that his mission would fail, Kabir plans to remind Riddhima of her past with him and her mission so that she stays away from Vansh. But much to his dismay, it does not show any affect on her and she brushes him off saying that Vansh is benignant.

Meanwhile, Riddhima finds out an old DVD of Anupriya talking to a little Kabir and decides to find out who the boy is. Initially she thinks that the boy is Vansh but she finds out that it is none from the family. Meanwhile, Vansh starts to suspect Riddhima's intentions. Riddhima starts to feel that Vansh knows about her and Kabir. On the first day of Navaratri Vansh gets to know that it was Anupriya who burned his biological mother's painting and that she had put the blame on Riddhima. Anupriya easily escapes from the situation by saying that Riddhima had blackmailed her, this enrages Vansh and he confronts Riddhima for the same due to which she is hurt. Meanwhile Kabir calls up Riddhima asking her to find an evidence about Ragini's murder or else he will be fired from his job but Riddhima defends Vansh by saying that he cannot commit such a crime as he had saved her life a numerous times. She also says that she will try for one last time and if they don't get any evidence against Vansh then they will stop their mission.

On the very same day Riddhima finds a memory card beneath Ragini's statue. She secretly watches half of the video in it and finds out that the murderer is left-handed and she thinks Vansh is right-handed. Riddhima suspects that Aryan is the murderer of Ragini, but soon she is shocked to know that Vansh can also work with his left hand. But her suspicion about Aryan comes true when she tells him about the memory card. It is revealed that Ragini is alive and Vansh is take care of her secretly as she is mentally unstable.

Production

The first promo was released on 23 January 2020 while the second one was released on 10 March 2020. Earlier finalised to premiere on 30 March 2020, the series was pushed to 13 July 2020 due to the global COVID–19 outbreak.[3]

On 24 September 2020, the filming of the series was halted for a few days when Rrahul Sudhir was tested positive for COVID-19. Later On 27th September 2020, Chandni Sharma also tested positive for COVID-19. The filming of the series was halted for even longer when Chandni Sharma tested positive for COVID-19.

Reception

In September 2020, a clip from the episode where the lead Helly Shah falls and fits into a suitcase after hitting a wall went viral which was subjected to various trolls and criticisms.[4]
