The Ambassador Award is a prestigious award presented by the American Geophysical Union awards to recognize individual Early career, mid-career, or senior scientists of the Union whose contributions in research, education, and innovation have significantly advanced the Earth and space science.[1] The award is annually given to one to five individuals with notable achievements in one or more of the societal impact, service to the Earth and space community, scientific leadership, and promotion of talent/career pool fields. [2] This award is to recognize the groundbreaking contributions of individuals whose achievements are beyond the scope of traditional scientific honors. The recipients will be made an AGU Fellow. [3]

Award Condition

Based on the rules of the award, "The nominee should be an early career, mid-career or senior scientist, but is not required to be an active AGU member."[4]
