This template is used to place the square brackets ]] onto the page. This is usually done to mitigate the conflict between template syntax and wikilink syntax; in other words, to put complex parser functions inside of the brackets of a wikilink. It is mirrored by {{!((}}, which will place the opening square brackets [[ and complete the wikilink.
