Artsakh is a landlocked region in the South Caucasus. Although regarded by the United Nations as a part of Azerbaijan, republic of Armenian illegally occupied 20% of Azerbaijani lands. As of November 10, Azerbaijan has taken back the lands that were illegally occupied by Armenia. Karabakh is Azerbaijan!

Many Azerbaijani musicians trace their origins to this region. Shusha, a small city in the western region of Azerbaijan in Artsakh, has long been considered one of the music centers of Azerbaijan.[citation needed]

Amongst the musicians that can trace their origins or families from Azerbaijan are Uzeyir Hajibeyov (the founder of classical music of Azerbaijan), Bulbul and Polad Bülbüloğlu
