Alexandria

"Alexandria" is an unusual personal name. Is perhaps "Alexandra" meant?

I think Alexandria is the female form of Alexandra. -- Sam — Preceding undated comment added 07:51, November 6, 2002
Alexander == male, Alexandra + Alexandria (+ Alexandrea?) == female —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boffy b (talkcontribs) 12:59, August 3, 2005

Meaning of "Alex"

WHat about the meaning OF "Alex" I believe it normally means something to the effect of "Defender of Man, or Defender of Mankind" The "The ALex" refers to defend, and the aner, or ander, like andrew, refers to "of men" (April 21)— Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.113.87.186 (talk) 15:02, April 21, 2003

Clockwork Orange

I believe Alex of Clockwork Orange fame has the last name DeLarge, but this could just be an addition for the film or a fact not mentioned in the book but held to be true. -- Jeremy (not yet a registered user) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.123.169.204 (talk) 00:42, December 6, 2004
