A facelifted version of the market’s Volkswagen Phideon luxury sedan was revealed for the 2021 model year during the 2020 Guangzhou Auto Show.[4] The facelift introduced a new front bumper adding chrome inserts and modifying the sections around the fog lights with the grilles updated with a illuminated badge flanked by an LED daytime running light strip that extends on the sides to meet the redesigned headlights. No mechanical modifications were made while the two higher trim levels were cancelled leaving the 2.0 TSI engine producing 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet (350 Newton-meters) of torque the only model offered.
