Seysulan (Template:Lang-hy, also, Seisoulan) was a village in the Mardakert district of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast (Azerbaijan SSR) before 1991 when it was divided between neighboring districts. Seysulan then became part of the Tartar Rayon of Azerbaijan. The village is on the cease-fire line between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan. Seysulan was under control of the Armenian forces since the 1994 ceasefire.
Azerbaijani forces claimed to have attacked and retaken the village during clashes on 4 April 2016,[1] but the Ministry of Defence of Nagorno-Karabakh disputed this claim as disinformation.[2]
After the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, in accordance with the agreements signed on November 10, 2020, by the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, Seysulan will be transferred to Azerbaijan by November 20, 2020.[citation needed]
