(1st title)

The 1948–49 Iraq Central FA First Division was the 1st season of the Iraq Central FA League (the top division of football in central Iraq, including the capital city of Baghdad, from 1948 to 1974). The competition started on 5 November 1948, and Al-Haris Al-Maliki won the title,[1][2][3][4] becoming the first ever champions of central Iraq. But they were not able to win the one-off national championship held that year as Sharikat Naft Al-Basra won the 1949 Iraq FA Championship.[5]
