Hey Pal

Hey Pal, Im not vandalisng pages. Stop sending me junk about me vandalisng., You stupid poo-poo head.

A quick note to say thanks

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for your support in my request for adminship. It was certainly a wild ride, and I really appreciate you taking some time out to contribute. ClockworkSoul 16:29, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Heya, could you speedy delete Lil' John? The user has been creating that nonsense page (note the broken links at the bottom) a lot lately, keeps recreating it after deletion. Lil' John should probably be recreated as a redirect to Lil John, but let's get rid of the cruft first. The user keeps deleting my deleteagain template. Thanks. --fvw* 09:22, 2004 Nov 29 (UTC)

Thanks. --fvw* 09:27, 2004 Nov 29 (UTC)
Done. --Slowking Man 09:27, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)
What?! What?! Okaaay! ;) →Raul654 09:41, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)
Go to bed, Raul. =p --Slowking Man 09:41, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)
He replaced the redirect with his bogus article again, but I reverted it. Now he created a new article at Little John and put the bogus content there again. I've listed him on WP:VIP. I can't keep up. Any help you or anyone else can give would be appreciated. — Knowledge Seeker দ (talk) 10:04, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)
The user has been blocked—hopefully he'll lose interest. Thanks. — Knowledge Seeker দ (talk) 05:03, 30 Nov 2004 (UTC)
All right. Don't hesitate to ask again if he starts editing again. --Slowking Man 06:22, Nov 30, 2004 (UTC)

Disney Comics

Why did you revert my edit at Disney Comics?

Er, terribly sorry. I didn't look at it closely enough, and thought it was school advertisment spam. My apologies. --Slowking Man 09:07, Dec 3, 2004 (UTC)
OK, thanks... I was just wondering... Delete these last comments if you wish...

(Hopefully, there will be a better explanation of these different comic schools later...)

Thank you but… [edited]

Dear Slowking Man

Thank you for your excellent format changes to Leo Gaje Cool beanz!

Query Fri 3 Dec 2004

Please can you take a close look at the comments of a user called Vague_Rant who keeps removing a similar entry for Leo T Gaje Jr? This person (from Melbourne, Australia), keeps listing the page entry as a copyright violation. To my knowledge user Vague_Rant has no knowledge or affiliation to Pekiti-Tirsia or Leo Gaje and has not even had the courtesy to acknowledge a request posted on a linked Live_Journal page at URL: http://www.livejournal.com/users/rago/135519.html?

Please hover close by like the good Wikipedia Angel you are.

Filipino Martial Arts FMA is a serious discipline, honored by the blood shed by honorable men and women over many years. It deserves more respect than that shown by Vague_Rant.

Thank you and keep well

Peace
mudthang

Yeah, Slowking, I'd be okay with that. Not too impressed with this guy's conduct, though. - Vague | Rant 01:12, Dec 5, 2004 (UTC)

Big UP to ya, Slowking

Thank you and keep well.
And as my Australian friend keeps reminding me…
Good on ya!

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

My Adminship

Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Squash
It is of course, human nature to focus on the one thing at sometime. Adminship would be great as it allows me to do more things with ease. However, I am not obsessed, the reason why I made such as long message was to make sure there was enough persausion so that voters do not have to ask questions. I will use this adminship to help me with administrative tasks and I will use this adminship not what I think is right but what is correct with Wikipedia policies. I hope that you trust me enough to put this adminship to good and proper use. I self-nominated myself to the fact that I more then deserve the adminship and waited long enough. It is common knowledge that had I not been in the Wikipedia channel ever, then none of this doubt would happen. I am just a person who enjoys my life (life is precious), I don't want to cause harm to anyone. But some people are taking everything I do on the IRC room seriously. The Wikipedia channel is not the Wikipedia itself. People such as Vague Rant based their decision differently because this is a self-nomination, this is not very fair. I decided not to go on #wikipedia channel ever again, if there are people who think I am so and so. I am a light hearted person who wants to be friends, but just obviously don't want to be my friends. They are attempting to ruin my self-esteem so that it affects my abilities as a fellow Wikipedia - a fellow human.

I have done many good things to the Wikipedia. No one can ever know me better then myself, there are people who think that just because a person is like that - that they are like that forever. An example would be this: If a poor man stole some bread to feed his starving children, would that be a crime ?... And if a person got a ticket (fine, penalty) for a minor offense such as dumping a piece of rubbish, does it make them a bad person?. If this happened to you, what would you do... It is a known, that many people change religions and change their ways. This does not imply that I am what the opposers say. But it is a scenario, that if I were what they say.

Of course they may think that I shouldn't be an admin - everyone has different thoughts, some are influenced by the people that they like. I want this adminship, had I not wanted it I would have withdrawed the nomination. If you think that I am a good person then I hope that you will change your decision. Please give me a fair go. Squash (Talk) 03:15, Dec 12, 2004 (UTC)

I certainly don't think that you're a "bad person." I don't even think you'd make a bad administrator. If this was the case, I would have opposed your adminship. However, I have some reservations about the opposers' concerns as well as your own eagerness to gain adminship. I hold to the axiom that "The only person fit to be President (or in this case, an admin) is one who does not desire the job." Please don't take our votes personally. I don't have any sort of grudge against you, and I'm sure the other "Oppose" and "Neutral" voters feel the same way. We simply have concerns about your behavior on Wikipedia. --Slowking Man 03:38, Dec 12, 2004 (UTC)
Quote: "We simply have concerns about your behavior on Wikipedia." I think you mean the Wikipedia IRC channel. Anyway fair enough, I understand your decision. Squash (Talk) 05:35, Dec 12, 2004 (UTC)
I can't speak for the other voters, but I don't really attach much importance to what happens in IRC. Besides, I haven't seen any of the behavior that some are alluding to. --Slowking Man 05:59, Dec 12, 2004 (UTC)

Re: Strokingman

Yeah, but if I were in top form I'd have got that talk page edit first too. ;) Plus you were busy blocking the guy. Having fans like him is a good indication you've been doing well as a vandal fighter. I hope you keep it up! -- Hadal 06:23, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Stroked Ego
Dear Slowking_Man Consider your ego formally stroked. And thanks greatly for posting the note re: Leo Gaje on VR's page.
Keep well

Game Media

Myself and others have been removing the media sections on games that are multi-platform. IMHO, theres really no point to the "Game Media" section anyway except for if it's an exclusive PC game because at least there it has a possibility of being different (CD, DVD, download (ex:Steam) etc). If it's on GameCube people should automatically assume it's using GameCube media. When you have a title that is multi-platform such as XIII (game), it's just clutter since this specific game is available on 5 different platforms. In addition, the project page for WikiProject: Computer and video games, specifically states that the model is for one specific platform. K1Bond007 01:37, Dec 23, 2004 (UTC)

Requests for admin assistance

Hi Slowking Man. As per our conversation on #IRC, I'm creating this section for things I could use your help editing on protected pages. Thanks again! Charm ©

  • Wikipedia:Risk_disclaimer
    • In the paragraph beginning "Wikipedia is not uniformly...", erronous should be erroneous. Ironic error to have, don't you think?  ;) Charm © 10:37, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
    • That is a bit ironic. I've corrected it, and made a couple other grammar fixes. --Slowking Man 10:44, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
  • Wikipedia:Medical_disclaimer
    • after medical professional appears in bold, I would reformat the examples as: "medical professional (for instance, a qualified doctor/physician, nurse, pharmacist/chemist, and so on)." Regarding i.e., see this page, item 4. I don't like "or such like", and is there some reason I'm not aware of for putting a space after the slash marks? Charm © 11:10, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
    • While we're at it, I would rephrase Nothing on Wikipedia.org or of any project of Wikimedia Foundation Inc., should be construed as Nothing on Wikipedia.org or included as part of any project of Wikimedia Foundation, Inc. should be construed. Charm © 11:10, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
    • I noticed the NOTE: This is a draft proposed wording disclaimer at the top of the page. Shouldn't a draft proposal be kept in the Talk: page until it's accepted? Charm © 11:10, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
  • Wikipedia:Content disclaimer
    • The fourth and fifth bullet mark items should have periods at the end, for consistency with the other bullet marks.
    • should "law of the state" be "laws of the state"?
    • apparently taboo articles no longer exists
    • Charm © 11:51, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
  • Wikipedia:Copyrights
    • Please see Wikipedia talk:Copyrights#syntax amelioration :). I thought the same thing when I read that sentence. Having different images with different copyright status is obviously not a problem; it's when the same image has more than one copyright status that we have a problem...
    • Also Wikipedia talk:Copyrights#Minor edits. I agree wikipedia:verbatim should be Wikipedia:Verbatim; however, I don't see the problem with "section 2".
    • Under Tagging, wikipedia:image should be Wikipedia:Image.
    • Under Fair use materials and special requirements, the sentence "An approval process for fair use images at has been proposed at Wikipedia:Fair use." should read "An approval process for fair use images has been proposed at Wikipedia:Fair use." (remove extra at).
    • US should be U.S.; this appears twice. See Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Usage and spelling.
    • Under Celebrity photographs, in item 3, "a legal representatives" should be "a legal representative".
    • Under If you find a copyright infringement, fourth paragraph, "then the page should be listed it on" should be "then the page should be listed on". (remove it).
    • thanks again for the help needed to make some of these edits Charm © 13:35, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
  • I got your message on my Talk: page that you had done the edits. Thanks again! I'll let you know if I find any other changes that need to be made on protected pages. Charm © 08:44, Jan 2, 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for your vote...

...and kind words on RfA. -Rholton 13:24, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)

No problem. Thank you for doing the menial jobs that others won't do. --Slowking Man 21:15, Jan 2, 2005 (UTC)

Please Keep in Mind

Please keep in mind you are far too "seasoned" for your experience. I don't feel compelled to log in at the moment, so naturally I do not deserve a reply.

Re: Vexillological symbols in articles

I did this for all "flag of" articles from A through L, and some of the M's. That info should help you make the necessary edits.

By the way, you must be using IE, since I did this under Mozilla, and it seemed to render fine in my browser. Denelson83 08:39, 21 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I am using IE, but according to the developers, Mediawiki 1.4b3 intentionally broke Wikimarkup in picture captions. --Slowking Man 08:42, Jan 21, 2005 (UTC)
