Leopold Poetsch
Leopold Poetsch (or Pötsch) (18 November 1853 – 16 October 1942) was an Austrian history teacher. He is best known for being a high school teacher of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and Adolf Eichmann. He influenced the future leader's later views, specifically German nationalism.
He was the history school teacher of Hitler in geography between 1901-1904 and 1902-1904 in history.[1] He taught his students that Jews and Slavs were inferior races.[2]
Hitler credits the determining factor of the entire rest of his future life to Leopold in his book Mein Kampf.
Later on in life, he distanced himself from his former pupil Hitler because he was loyal to the Austrian state and monarchy.[3]
Poetsch had been a member of the underground Nazi in Austria, which had been outlawed during Austria's independence.[4]
