Hypervitaminosis A syndrome is a condition that is caused by excessive intake of vitamin A analogs. The symptoms manifested are similar to those of hypervitaminosis A. However, a causal mechanism is not known as pathological uptake of vitamin A analogs cannot occur. Retinol is converted to retinyl esters that are stored in adipose tissue. Analogs of vitamin A cannot be reconverted into retinol.
