Devil's Gate is 2017 American supernatural horror film written and directed by Clay Staub from a screenplay by Peter Aperlo. The film stars Amanda Schull, Shawn Ashmore, Milo Ventimiglia, Bridget Regan and Jonathan Frakes.

It had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 24, 2017. It is scheduled to be released on January 5, 2018, by IFC Midnight.

Plot

The small town at the difference of Devil's Gate, North Dakota, the agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the Daria Francis arrives in a small town of Devil's Gate in North Dakota. She is investigating the disappearance of a woman Maria Pritchard and her son Jonah. Accompanied by Sheriff Conrad "Colt" Salter and after questioning the sister of the missing. Colt who needs enemies or missing while you're expected on the right. Jenna what's nothing goes or wanting like men at the people.

Unimpressed with the insistence that the woman's husband can't have hurt her because he's a lovely guy, she insists on repeating their unsuccessful investigation - and finds rather more than she bargained for. To locals in the small town of Devil's Gate, North Dakota, this doesn't seem like a big deal, but Maria's family in the city are worried and have alerted the federal authorities.

FBI Special Agent Daria Francis has traveled from out of town and arrives in Devil's Gate where she'll teem with local deputy Conrad "Colt" Salter on a special assignment. Sheriff Gruenwell tasks the agent and officer in locating a missing woman and her son. Theresa Locke reported that her sister and nephew went attempt since being at the old Pritchard farm, which is where Pearce sought help for his vehicle. Jackson Pritchard has an unsavory reputation for being gruff and he's an old friend of Colt's since they attended the same high school together. The sheriff would rather Daria and Colt not get too involved in the case but the new partners drive out to the Pritchard's. Daria uncovers an old Volkswagen in the barn which she takes belongs to Jackson's wife, Maria.

But she can't do anymore digging because Jackson has a loaded shotgun pointed at her head. Fortunately, Colt and Daria are experienced enough in law enforcement to force it out of his hands. Jackson has someone or something locked in his basement but warns Daria not to go down there. Does he have his wife and son caged up in the basement?

Deputy Conrad "Colt" Salter heads with Agent Francis to interview Maria's sister and she leaves her house convinced that Jackson may be hiding them. When they arrive at his farm, Jackson assaults Agent Francis and she enters the house to investigate, finding some kind of creature caged in the basement. Jackson is adamant that they let him go so he can protect his family, but Agent Francis is skeptical. However Sheriff Gruenwell asks Theresa to leave Jonah alone since he is a good man. Jackson riding in a these fighting words at back, who leads alone since he is a good man. A ramshackle of a farmhouse sits in the middle of nowhere in Devil's Gate, North Dakota. Critical reception

Devil's Gate holds a 38% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 16 critic reviews and hold an average rating of 5.17/10.[2]

The Village Voice wrote, "What’s most disappointing is that Staub proves himself to be a formidable director of action and visual effects. Please, someone just give him a better story."[3] The Hollywood Reporter, Los Angeles Times, and New York Times also panned the film.[4][5][6]
