Russian doping ban by WADA and CAS
On December 19, 2019, Russia was banned for four years by WADA for doping violations and barred from competing at any World Championships. Russia appeal the decision and was allowed to participate at the Worlds. On December 17, 2020, the Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed a 2 years retroactive ban taking effect from December 2019 to 2022, excluding Russia from any major competitions, including Olympic Games and World Championships, thus allowing cancellation of russian results obtained during the appeal at the CAS.[2]
