Danzig was the name of a city that used to belong to Germany. Since 1945, it is called Gdańsk, Poland.

Due to the predominant German background between 1308 and 1945, Danzig refers to the city in this historical context, for example the Free City of Danzig. German language continues to call the town Danzig, like Polish language did use Gdańsk prior to 1945.

Danzig is also the surname of:

  • Avraham Danzig (1748–1820), Rabbi, author of Jewish Law works
  • Glenn Danzig (born 1955), American musician, founder of the band Danzig
  • Jon Danzig (1947 - 2005), software distributor
  • Richard Danzig (born 1944), American lawyer and former US Secretary of the Navy
  • Mac Danzig (born 1980), American professional mixed martial arts practitioner
