The Early Rundown

Sky News Breakfast is a British breakfast television program that airs daily from 7-10am (Monday-Friday), 6–10am (Saturday) and 6-8.30am (Sunday) on Sky News. The show launched on Monday, 14 October 2019 as part of a replacement for long-running breakfast show Sunrise, which also includes The Early Rundown.

Between Monday and Friday, the show is presented by Niall Paterson from Sky's Westminster studios at Four Millbank.[1]

Between Saturday and Sunday, the show is presented by Stephen Dixon and Gillian Joseph from Sky Centre in Osterley. Jacquie Beltrao leads on sport on the programme.[2]

Kay Burley

Sky News announced on 23 September 2019 that they were introducing a new breakfast show to their schedule to replace Sunrise, called Kay Burley @ Breakfast.[3][1]

The show ran from 7-9am live from Sky News's Westminster studios at Four Millbank, and unlike Sunrise, was hosted solely by Burley, with no separate news or sports anchors.[2] The show first aired on Monday, 14 October 2019, with Burley presenting from Abingdon Green in Westminster, with the weather being presented from Studio 21 at Osterley by Kirsty McCabe.

In September 2020, the show was renamed Kay Burley, being presented by Burley from Monday-Friday from a re-vamped Westminster set. The show now runs from 7-10am on weekdays.

The show has a political, hard-news agenda, and has a large input on social media.

On 10 December 2020, Burley stepped back from presenting the show for six months, as a result of breaching London's tier 2 coronavirus restrictions.[4] The ‘Kay Burley’ breakfast show was replaced on the schedule with Sky News Breakfast.

Sky News Breakfast

Alongside the announcement of Kay Burley @ Breakfast , Sky News also announced "a slightly more relaxed style to kick off the weekend" in the form of Sky News @ Breakfast with Stephen Dixon and Gillian Joseph.[3]

The show runs from 6-10am on Saturdays and 6-8.30am on Sundays, live from Sky Studios in Osterley. It aired for the first time on Friday, 18 October 2019.

In September 2020, Sky News @ Breakfast was renamed Sky News Breakfast.

The show has a hard-news agenda, much like Kay Burley, however is slightly more relaxed, containing human interest stories.[5]

On 10 December 2020, Sky News Breakfast replaced Kay Burley on the schedule with Monday to Friday presented by Niall Patterson.
