Walter Piano Company, Inc (also known as Charles R. Walter Piano Company) an American piano-manufacturing company in Elkhart, Indiana.
History
The company was formed in 1969 after Charles Walter, a former C.G. Conn head of Piano Design and Developmental Engineering[1], bought the Janssen piano name from Conn and started his own company making Jassen pianos, doing so until 1991.[2]
In 1975, Charles Walter start his own line of console and studio upright pianos and in 1997 the first grand piano was introduced,[2]
Walter Piano Company is now a company run by the Walter family where many of the workers are part of the Walter family.[3][4] Walter pianos are hand crafted in the factory of Elkhart, Indiana.[5]
