Gap?

Anyone have more information on the gap in route 31 / P'iilani Highway?

"The highway formerly ran parallel to the coast all the way to the southern terminus of the Hana Highway (Route 360), until developments in Wailea and Makena blocked access."

It's referenced here but cannot seem to find references to it elsewhere - was the road originally connected and then removed? When and why? Or was it never completed/connected? --Chris (talk) 12:14, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
