Why Hotwiki's Edit Had To Be Changed

1) I cleaned up the episode descriptions because of their poor grammar and incorrect sentence constructions. Take the first one alone.

"Guidice awaits the release of her husband from prison and immigration detention facility transferral, while rumors of her having an affair spreads out. Aydin posted a video about Goldschneider on Instagram, who believes the cheating allegations about Guidice. At a company party for Aydin's husband, Aydin confronts Goldschneider."

In the first sentence, "Guidice" is not awaiting "the release of her husband from prison" and "immigration detention facility transferral" -- she is awaiting "the release of her husband from prison" and *his* "immigration detention facility transferral." Without identifying this switch in ownership, the thought is unclear.

Also in the first sentence, "rumors" is a plural noun, therefore they would not "spreads"; they would "spread."

In the second sentence, the clause after the comma (starting with "who") intends to modify "Goldschneider," but this has it modifying "Instagram," which is not a "who" and cannot be accurately modified as "believes the cheating allegations about Guidice."

This is just one paragraph. There are others that had similar problems.

2) I took out last names in episode descriptions so they would be consistent with the other Housewives articles. Check out the Season 9 page. The Season 8 page. The Season 7 page. They all refer to the women using their first names. That's the standard on Wiki pages for Housewives; that's how it should be done here as well.

3) I took out any opinion that was masquerading as a fact, because this is against the rules. Here are three examples.

"The feud between Goldschneider and Catania drags"

"Drags" is opinionated language -- that is Hotwiki telling us what that drama feels like to him/her. A more accurate, neutral term would be "continues."

"Goldschneider talks about the challenges with her eating disorder, and uses it as her storyline for the season."

Labeling the material that Jackie discusses in this episode as a "storyline" is opinionated language -- that is a characterization that stretches the bounds of pure description, especially when it's not applied to anyone else's material. What's more, it's unnecessary; isn't every narrative on a TV show a storyline?

"The reunion concludes as original cast member Danielle Staub says her goodbye to her former best friend Guidice, after three seasons of the show as a friend and providing the show plenty of moments."

"Providing the show plenty of moments" is an opinionated characterization of what Danielle did during her tenure on the show and it is unnecessary -- it is not a description of the episode in question. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Upperco (talk • contribs) 07:46, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
