Gstar Solar, also known as G-Star Pte. Ltd.,[3] simply referred to as Gstar,[4] is a PV product manufacturer[5] founded in 2019.[6] Headquartered in Singapore,[7] the company focuses on the fields of PV material manufacturing and PV system services.[8] It specializes in the manufacture of solar panels.[9][10] In 2022, it acquired California-based EPOCH Green Energy.[11] In May 2024, the construction of the firm's silicon wafer plant in Jakarta was initiated.[12]
Outside of Singapore, Gstar also operates in markets such as the U.S.,[13] and the Emirates.[14] In June 2024, it was included in the 2024 PV Module Index report published by the Renewable Energy Test Center.[15][16] In the report, the company was ranked ahead of JA Solar,[17] Trina Solar, and Yingli Solar.[18] In August, it partnered with Middle Eastern investment firm Siraj Group[19] to develop a solar module production project.[20]
History
Gstar was established in 2019. In 2022, the company opened its first module factory in Thailand.[21] In March 2023, its subsidiary, Standard Energy, which specializes in the production of solar cells, was formed.[22]
In June 2024, Gstar attended the Intersolar Europe Exhibition in Munich.[23] In August, the company entered the Middle East.[24] In the same month, it began constructing a solar PV aluminum frame and mounting facility in Laos.[25]
