The Medal For the Construction of Transport Facilities (Russian: Медаль «За строительство транспортных объектов», Medal «Za stroitelstvo transportnykh obektov») is a Russian governmental award established by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.[1] It honors individuals for the exceptional contributions to the development and construction of transportation infrastructure.
History and Criteria
The award was established by the order of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation on October 18, 2005, under Order No. 130, with subsequent amendments made in 2013.[2] The medal is awarded to employees of organizations within Russia's transport complex and other relevant institutions, including foreign citizens who have significantly contributed to the transportation sector.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the award, individuals must have a minimum of five years of experience in transportation construction. The medal is awarded for personal merits in the reconstruction and construction of air, sea, internal water, rail transport infrastructure, and road economy; the development, introduction, and application of new technologies and materials that enhance the quality of construction projects; and the execution of major projects in transportation infrastructure.[1]
Design and Presentation
The medal is circular, 32 millimeters in diameter, with raised edges on both sides and is made of yellow metal. The front features a composition depicting various transportation structures, including an airport building, a flying airplane, a radar installation in the mountains, a railway bridge with a train, a cargo truck emerging from a tunnel under the bridge, and a sea tanker.
The reverse side features the small coat of arms of the Russian Ministry of Transport at the top, with the inscription "For the Construction of Transport Facilities" in four lines, below which are two laurel branches tied into a semi-wreath. The medal is attached to a pentagonal pad wrapped in a blue ribbon with a series of colored stripes.[3]
