Ryōya Morishita (森下 龍矢, Morishita Ryoya, born 11 April 1997) is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a wing-back or a left-back for Ekstraklasa club Legia Warsaw and the Japan national team.[2] Morishita is the first Japanese player in Legia's history, and the fourteenth in the Polish Ekstraklasa.[3]
Club career
Legia Warsaw
Morishita moved to Legia Warsaw on 9 January 2024 on loan.[4] On 9 February 2024, he made his debut with the club, in an away 1–0 victory over Ruch Chorzów at Stadion Śląski.[5] He scored his first goal for Legia during the third elimination round for UEFA Conference League, which was a 2–3 away victory over Brøndby IF that took place on 8 August 2024. Morishita scored his premiere goal in Ekstraklasa three days later, in a 2–2 draw against Puszcza Niepołomice.[6]
On 17 December 2024, he signed the contract until the end of 2028–29 season, following of exercising his release clause.[7][8][9]
