Regarding her date of birth

I've never seen this mentioned anywhere, from what she has said on the radio about being a teenager and music she heard as a teenager it would seem her year of birth was about 1972, but nothing specific.--Lord of the Isles 23:57, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

She has mentioned that she is in her early 30s. Richmd 00:06, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was her birthday yesterday (28/04), at least they said it was on Daily Politics. Obviously they didn't say her age though. Pidz (talk) 10:08, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And according to her CV she became Head of News and Current Affairs in 1995[1]. Which since she " was one of the youngest TV news editors in the UK at the age of 25" i make the year 1970. Presumably 1995 minus 25 doesn't count as original research. Pidz (talk) 10:37, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Although in hindsight I'm an idiot, of course if she had become editor before her birthday she could have been born in '69. Pidz (talk) 16:49, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incidently, I couldn't help noticing the year has now been changed to 1972 by SLSINGH, but with no reasoning given. Since her husband's Simon Lehna Singh (and all but one of their edits have been to this article) it's either him or someone who would like to be. Presumably, if it's the former, he may well know her birthday, but he's given no citation. Having said that, I suspect it's just some nutter. I admit my initial deduction was flawed and I wouldn't be bothered if the birthdate was removed altogether until a reliable source could be found, I just like the idea that Simon Singh worries about how old wikipedia says his wife is. Pidz (talk) 02:37, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is a birth recorded for a Anita Anand in Q2 1972 in Waltham Forest registration district with mother's maiden name Bhatia so it seems likely to be correct (Six others with the name between 1967 and 1986). --jmb (talk) 12:56, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Photograph

There is a photograph of her receiving the Nazia Hassan award, but I believe its copyrighted. I don't know if there are any other photographs available. Richmd 00:13, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is another photograph of her with Dom Jolly. Richmd 02:22, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism?

She has been European Head of News and Current Affairs for Zee TV, an international satellite and cable television station and was one of the youngest TV news editors in the UK at the age of 75.

That can't be right. Apepper 08:21, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed the age to 25 - that's what the BBC citation has.

Marriage

Anita Rani was covering for her on her programme for sometime because she was getting married and going on her honeymoon (according to announcements on Radio 5 Live), there has been no mention of who she married though and she herself always claimed to be some kind of spinster who spent more time with her cat than anyone else?--Lord of the Isles 22:15, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

Just wondering if we should add an IPA for the pronunciation of her surname, and how exactly it is pronounced. I've heard both Anarnd and Arnand. Perhaps someone can help here? TheRetroGuy (talk) 11:01, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nobody seems to have had any thoughts on this so I've gone ahead and added it. Most people appear to pronounce it as "Arnand" so I think that is probably right. If anyone has any thoughts on this then please leave a comment below or update the link. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 12:06, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
