More info about Lehman's band First Jason?

Discography

Band's discography is independently released - no UPC code, no record label, therefore is not "Wikipedia" worthy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:38CA:2760:8C3:FC9E:8174:A0B8 (talk) 14:47, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

POV and Bias information

Way too many opinionated adjectives, and unnecessary information about Lehman's personal interests. Not Wikipedia worthy, and serves no purpose to include things such as interview quotes about him enjoying music more than acting. Also too many bias and opinionated statements such as "Lehman played one of the most iconic roles in horror movie history" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CE1D:9720:AC7F:15FB:F82D:870B (talk) 05:17, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I undid DTAssociation's omissions, as they were unconstructive edits. I also caution about edits made by this particular user because it appears that this user has posted several contentious postings/videos considered libelous and harmful about and to victimize the subject, on You Tube, on the internet, and may have conflict of interest. Removed bias content

Removed "using tight melodies and vicious hooks, hard-hitting drums, and Lehman's shredding keytar and powerful voice" to describe band. Too bias and personal for Wikipedia standards.

Per BLP guidelines. Removed "'is known' to sell autographed unlicensed Friday the 13th merchandise, such as hockey masks" as it (1) uses Weasel Words, (2) poor sourcing, the secondary source is unreliable (3) not factual. The subject does not claim to be an approved Friday the 13th vendor; subject does not sell hockey masks. Additionally, we should note that even if a film character does not use a specific prop in the film, it does not preclude the actor from selling items, such as machetes. These additions appear slanted and may create negative conjectural interpretation and do not comply with Wikepedia objectivity and neutrality standards. The mention of the subject's sale of machete and using the subject's website as a primary source may be considered indirect promotion. Sisterwendy (talk) 19:25, 1 February 2015 (UTC) sisterwendy[reply]

Per BLP standards. Removed "Unlicensed" due to reasons above-explanation; the statement is not factual. The subject does not claim to be an approved Friday the 13th vendor. His products, like many other vendors' products, can be and were inspired. Edited "Unlicensed" with "inspired: "Lehman sells Friday the 13th inspired merchandise such as machetes, hockey mask themed hot sauce, and hockey mask themed smoking paraphernalia, however his character did not utilize a machete or hockey mask in the film." Again we should note that even if a film character does not use a specific prop in the film, it does not preclude the actor from selling items, such as machetes. These additions appear slanted and may create negative conjectural interpretation and do not comply with Wikepedia objectivity and neutrality standards. The mention of the subject's sale items and using the subject's website as a primary source may be considered indirect promotion. sister wendy Sisterwendy (talk) 21:08, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lehman's website

I've removed the commercial products pending a discussion on whether it should be included at all. Do we need it? I see it as trivia. So he sells stuff on his web site. Big deal. Unless we are making the point that he's capitalizing on having been in the movie by selling stuff that isn't really what he suggests, this is just promotional trivia. Sisterwendy you can't have it both ways. He sells autographed machetes inscribed "Jason never died!" even though the Jason he portrayed in the first movie was a relatively minor character who didn't kill people with a machete or anything else, so the somewhat negative tone seems valid. If there is a WP:RS (not just some whining on an online forum) showing that there have been complaints about what he is doing with his merchandise sales then I say we put it in. If there isn't such a source I suggest that we leave out all mention of the commercial website. Meters (talk) 23:02, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, so what? The majority of the content on here is trivia. Let's face the facts, this entire article is way too long for a borderline film extra. Think about it... His complete relevancy is his 5-second role in Friday the 13th... So why does this page require all this nonsense about his schooling, his unsigned band, him showing up to conventions, etc? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:ce1d:9720:ac7f:15fb:f82d:870b (talkcontribs) 23:33, February 1, 2015‎

The removal is appropriate and one I would have also done: I point out the appearance of indirect promotion. I, however, felt that I as a contributor to compromise and hope for another to exclude - in the Wikipedia spirit of cooperation and compromise - such as what you did. Notes received from user 2602:306:ce1d:9720:ac7f:15fb:f82d:870b and the comments this same user posted above reveal a slant, conflict of interest intended to create negative conjectural interpretation and bias against the subject, non-Wikepedia compliant. The comment posted above is also incorrect about the time spent on film. It is irrelevant what the subject inscribes on his merchandise, but to point out that it is true the character "JASON NEVER DIES!" (not "died") is accurate; It has been reliably documented that this role and final ending scene helped launch the series with number of sequels with other Jasons. The final scene in which Ari Lehman is in appears in "Bravo's Scariest Movie Moments" (October 2004), landing the film in spot 31, and Ari Lehman is interviewed and appears in "His Name was Jason" (2009). He also wrote the foreword for the "6-13 A Friday the 13th Movie Trivia Book" (2014) and his personal story, not just the role, about his experiences with and after the movie is written about in "The Camp Crystal Lake Diaries" (2014). These pieces all have citable, reliable resources. In response to 2602:306:ce1d:9720:ac7f:15fb:f82d:870b comments above, Ari Lehman's profile, band, and music are featured in several external sources. He appears regularly at public events and performs with First Jason. Wikipedia voted to keep the Ari Lehman article, therefore it is appropriate that it be managed in the same manner given to others, which I hope =we are all contributing toward in our participation at Wikepedia.Thank you for the decision to remove of the line; I agree it was promotion trivia. sisterwendySisterwendy (talk) 00:26, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it is promotional and a discussion is not needed. Ripoff Report is not a reliable source. Sisterwendy should include the items she mentioned in her comments in the article.Filimexdude (talk) 02:04, 2 February 2015 (UTC) filimexdudeFilimexdude (talk) 02:04, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I can locate the links again. Sisterwendy (talk) 02:20, 2 February 2015 (UTC)sisterwendy[reply]

I included Ripoff Report because Sisterwendy questioned my wording when I put "known to" sell machetes, etc. This is hilarious, there is more time spent on Wikipedia than Ari's entire film career. 2602:306:CE1D:9720:AC7F:15FB:F82D:870B (talk) 05:07, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Sisterwendy's explanation in her omission of you entry, 2602:306:CE1D:9720:AC7F:15FB:F82D:870B: "Per BLP guidelines. Removed "'is known' to sell autographed unlicensed Friday the 13th merchandise, such as hockey masks" as it (1) uses Weasel Words, (2) poor sourcing, the secondary source is unreliable (3) not factual." The comment was not constructive to the article. Thegreatcatherine (talk) 08:30, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is there proof that Lehman appeared in any film after Friday the 13th? 2602:306:CE1D:9720:AC7F:15FB:F82D:870B (talk) 05:04, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
