Line strength

I added a request for citation regarding the weakening the line strength. If the statement is correct, it would be good to be sure, although I can't see how it can be the case - while the loop &/or knot might be stronger than the line, the point at which the standing part of the line enters the knot is still a single line & is compressed by the knot - to my mind, this will inevitably weaken the line & is likely to be the weakest point in many knots. 80.229.172.13 (talk) 04:10, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
