Murder or not

Since Myrtle Bennett was acquitted, is the death of John Bennett still a 'murder' in the purely legal sense or is it an 'accidental death' case of some kind? If so, what kind? Newwhist (talk) 16:16, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know whether the jury was instructed on lesser included offenses (e.g., voluntary manslaughter) or, if so, what their verdict on any such charge was? 96.37.67.222 (talk) 04:59, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hofman or Hoffman

One reference says Hofman, the other Hoffman. I do not have access to other refs to break the tie. Which is it? Newwhist (talk) 17:52, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, significantly more happened than is described in the article. There is a need to research this properly. Also, to determine how/why Mrs. Bennett won the lawsuit she filed (in the USDC, Wn. D. Mo.) to recover on her husband's life insurance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:4808:53C0:0:0:0:0:8CB (talk) 03:22, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
