Clarifications needed

There are several inconsistencies in the article which need clarification: Elekhh (talk) 08:27, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Nearest city: the lead names Surabaya, however in the infobox appears Malang.
The closest city to the national park is Malang, but people use Surabaya as the main point probably because it is the capital of East Java province, the province where the national park is located. I added some info about this now in the article. User:Rochelimit
  • Subalpine zone: "Mount Semeru has no plant life" - nothing at all?
The source said none, I give a link to the same page. The english wording in that (official) page is very bad. I also add some words, so that the sentence doesn't sounds very direct: "no plant". User:Rochelimit
  • Culture: "The Tenggerese number about 600,000 and they reside in 30 villages scattered". That's 20,000 per village in average... None of these qualifies as a town?
I don't know, apparently not... I guess, no detailed information. Maybe it's better to delete that information and give a link instead to a wikipedia page that explains in detail more about this people (Tenggerese); and so, I delete it. On that article (the Tenggerese), it also says the same thing 600,000 people in total, spreaded in 30 villages. User:Rochelimit

DYK nomination

I see you have nominated the article for the did you know section. As I understand the rules, the stated fact must be immediately referenced in the text. The reference is after the next sentence (which might be ok - I don't know), but when I read up the reference, it doesn't actually tell me that the Javanese Edelweiss is endangered. As it stands, I don't think they will approve your DYK nomination. Schwede66 (talk) 23:57, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
