Ivanhoe Line

As part of the general update to the article, I have removed the "Ivanhoe Line" diagram template. There are two reasons for this:

  • This is a station article, so a line template isn't really appropriate;
  • There are no passenger services on that line at present, so its inclusion is speculative anyway.

I have posted it on the talk page so it is not lost. --RFBailey 01:17, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Burton-on-Trent

I propose the renaming of the article to Burton-on-Trent railway station for the following reasons:

  • The station has been known as Burton-on-Trent since the early 1900's.
  • Calling the station Burton upon Trent on wikipedia adds inaccuracy.
  • There are no plans to rename the station to the 'correct' name for the town.
  • UK railway station articles do not correspond to their towns full name but to what the station has been named by railway authorities. Examples include Oxenholme Lake District.

Discuss. - Mfarrow6483 (talk) 19:22, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Burton-on-Trent Station - dirty, ugly, smelly and an appalling advert for any self-respecting town

Does anyone have any free source images for this page of the Victorian station that preceded the grubby dirt-hole that we have to put up with now? Betjamen loved it. Captain McVitie (talk) 19:46, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There have been a couple added recently. I can't believe they knocked that magnificent building down to build the station we have now. Swaddon1903 (talk) 12:43, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, they didn't just do it at Burton. Consider London Euston and many others --Redrose64 (talk) 14:38, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
