Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on José Luis Sánchez Solá. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20090530025921/http://www.exonline.com.mx:80/diario/noticia/adrenalina/futbolsoccer/sanchez_sola,_incondicional_del_gober/609522 to http://www.exonline.com.mx/diario/noticia/adrenalina/futbolsoccer/sanchez_sola,_incondicional_del_gober/609522

– All three pages have identical names, with the sole differences being diacritics. Add disambiguator for all and create a disambiguation page. RedPatch (talk) 14:06, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- Note: the third proposal, Cheliş → Cheliş (village), had to be removed because Cheliş is a redirect and redirects are ineligible to be current titles in move requests. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 07:51, 27 September 2024 (UTC)

- Support first, but as Chelis (genus) as it is not an individual moth, Oppose others per WP:SMALLDETAILS. However it is quite obvious the moth should not be hogging the primary topic and it should be a DAB page. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 15:11, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with the change to Chelis (genus). Disagree with regards to WP:SMALLDETAILS, it's meant more for unique intentional spellings that would specifically be done in reference to a thing, as opposed to a regular language convention. For example, the football manager was regularly spelled as "Chelis" without an accent in media Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, showing how SMALLDETAILS doesn't really apply. This was also discussed in a previous RM RedPatch (talk) 16:48, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- His primary name still appears to have the accent, therefore despite being written without one at some points, SMALLDETAILS still does apply. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 16:51, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose Chelis (genus). No, (moth) is the usual term for polytypic genera of moths, see for example La (moth), Talis (moth), Argyria (moth), and Urola (moth). We try not to use '(genus)' as a dab term. This is because a genus of plants could have the same name as a genus of animals, see, for example, Townsendia. YorkshireExpat (talk) 19:51, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- If there's a conflict then (animal genus) and (plant genus) should be used. Disambiguations like (moth), (dog) and others can only be used to describe individual members of that species, as it is otherwise overly vague for any other purpose. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 21:35, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Zxcvbnm feel free to gain consensus for this at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Tree_of_Life. Until then, please do not use (genus) as a dab term. YorkshireExpat (talk) 13:47, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- See discussion here. YorkshireExpat (talk) 13:57, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- @YorkshireExpat: You seem to be implying that current consensus is to use species names, but I don't see a consensus either way. In other words we would defer to the consensus from this particular discussion. if you feel strongly about establishing a project-wide consensus then you can use WP:RFC, but there is no set rule from what I can tell. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 14:25, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- Well then, you should at least follow the precedent, which is to not use (genus) as a dab term. YorkshireExpat (talk) 14:44, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- And I'm not implying anything, I'm simply pointing out there has been a much fuller discussion on the topic at the relevant project talk page. This should certainly not overturn anything said there. YorkshireExpat (talk) 14:46, 27 September 2024 (UTC)

- Support 1st, oppose others as the 1st is the simple title while the others have diacritics that would likely make them unique per WP:SMALLDETAILS. The moth has 30 views but the manager has 178 and Sulița has 29[[1]]. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:55, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- If you type "Chelis" in the search box, the football manager doesn't appear in the options, so something needs to change. Perhaps adding Chelis (football manager) as a redirect to Chelís would be helpful. The moth at plain (no diacritic) Chelis is the primary topic unless WP:SMALLDETAILS applies. A hatnote could be added at Chelis. — Jts1882 | talk 16:53, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Jts1882 now you're here care to add anything to the (genus) as a dab term conversation? I know it is usually avoided these days. YorkshireExpat (talk) 17:51, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) I don't see how the moth is the primary topic. Looking at page views, it averages 2 pages views a day. The football manager despite not appearing in the search menu averages more. It is also why I recommended it for this RM because the football manager (and the Romanian town which was removed from this, do not appear in the search menu when Chelis is typed). Also I disagree with SMALLDETAILS, espeically specifically here the diacritic is virtually indistinguishable from the regular dot on the letter I when typing in the size 12 font (or whatever size the search bar is) RedPatch (talk) 17:52, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
