I have proposed merging this article into the main article about this election: see Talk:Virginia gubernatorial election, 2009. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 23:09, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Per that discussion -- and its end nearly 2 months ago -- seems this article is going to stay, so I'll remove the template now. My thinking is that articles about campaigns that have a major party's nomination for statewide or national office should have their own articles, but I have no particular opinion about campaigns not meeting that threshhold.
