An official definition of "Dependencies of Guadeloupe" is needed

I checked all nine of the references currently in this article and not one of them mentions "dependencies of Guadeloupe" or any equivalent in French. Many of them are 404s anyway. I cannot find a legal definition of this term. In the context of the administrative divisions of France there is no concept of a "dependency". The three so-called dependencies, Îles des Saintes, Marie-Galante, and La Désirade, are simply communes of the overseas department and region of Guadeloupe. La Désirade is just another commune of Guadeloupe and is no more a "dependency" than any other commune. The fact that these places are islands and geographically separated from Basse-Terre Island and Grande-Terre does not give them any special status under the governance of the department. If one is not found, this article should be redirected to the main article. --Cornellier (talk) 00:48, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
