Clinical Applications

As this page is a stub, we plan to expand on the clinical applications of Diloxanide. The subheadings that we will be adding will be indication, contraindications, drug-drug interactions, side effects/safety, storage, etc. We will approaching the improvement of this stub by using reputable sources of medications including: EMBase, UpToDate, Lexicomp, Micromedex, etc. The complete list of topics will be finalized later and will distributed among members evenly.

Sunny.ng (talk) 15:31, 4 November 2016 (UTC) We also plan to expand on the history and discovery of the drug. We also hope to brainstorm ideas of its current market share and competition in the U.S. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sunny.ng (talkcontribs) 19:07, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  1. [Stephanie] Does the draft submission reflect a neutral point of view? If not, specify…
  • Yes, your group did a good job of showing a neutral point of view throughout the sections.
  • The phrasing "second line treatment (paromomycin is preferred)" was used often and it would be nice to see "Paromomycin is considered first line treatment while diloxanide is used as a second line when symptoms occur. (or phrasing similar to that). Stephwong (talk) 06:58, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  1. [Jessica] Are the points included verifiable with cited secondary sources that are freely accessible? If not, specify…
  1. [Masih] Are the edits formatted consistent with Wikipedia’s manual of style for medicine-related articles? If not, specify…

Overall Edits:

  • Some sentences seemed choppy since it included ";" in them. Maybe these statements can be edited into a complete sentence without the break in the middle.

"90% of each dose is excreted in the urine; the other 10% is excreted in the feces.[8]" "Dloxanide furoate works only in the digestive tract; it is a lumenal amebicide.[1][3] "
